    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Eoin Colfer
    • Narrated By Nathaniel Parker
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Artemis Fowl’s archenemy Opal Koboi has masterminded a way to simultaneously secure her release from prison and bring the human and fairy worlds to their knees. And, unless Artemis can stop her, the evil pixie’s next move will destroy all human life on Earth. Ground zero is the Fowl Estate, where Opal has reanimated fairy warriors who were buried there thousands of years ago. Their spirits have possessed any vessels they can find - corpses, Artemis’s little brothers, assorted wildlife - and they are bound to obey Opal’s every command. Defeating the motley troops and their diabolical leader will require all of Artemis’s cleverness.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Guardian to be better than the print version?

I prefer the audio edition to the printed because Parker brings a life to the characters that wouldn't otherwise be there at all.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Guardian?

I think when Opal realized that it was her clone and not Holly in the cave that was priceless that and when Mulch came riding out on the Troll!

What about Nathaniel Parker’s performance did you like?

What isn't there to like about his performance? Its wonderful and he gives very individualized voices to all the characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    An ending and a beginning.

    Any additional comments?

Just an amazing book I think that like what the other reviewers have said about it a full circle happens and that just was what Artemis Fowl is all about!

  • The Last American Vampire

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 17 mins)
    • By Seth Grahame-Smith
    • Narrated By MacLeod Andrews

In Reconstruction-era America, vampire Henry Sturges is searching for renewed purpose in the wake of his friend Abraham Lincoln's shocking death. It will be an expansive journey that will first send him to England for an unexpected encounter with Jack the Ripper, then to New York City for the birth of a new American century, the dawn of the electric era of Tesla and Edison, and the blazing disaster of the 1937 Hindenburg crash.

Jason says: "Werewolves, READ THIS! Not as good as Abe..."
    "Disappointing (spoiler alert)"

First off I really enjoyed other books by Seth. This book however was a huge letdown. Repeatedly its stated the sexual patterns and practices of vampires.

The part that made me completely hate the book is when Henry has sex with his 17 year old adopted daughter (who he's raised from baby). But it's somehow ok because they're not blood related. Fast forward a few hundred years later and she comes back... Blah, blah, blah... And I don't want to spoil it all.

The story in between the sexual references was subpar and was lacking depth. The performer was good and did a decent job. As one of the vampires frequently stated "it's all about f@!kin"

My recommendation: save a credit and choose another book.
