Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampire and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampire. That is, if she makes it through the Change - and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no ordinary fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampire Goddess Nyx.

This series is very good. I try to read what my kids read to see if it is apropriate and I actually ended up enjoying it but I would only recomend for 14 and up.

Lady Brenna MacAlister harbored no illusions that her husband, a quick-tempered highland laird, was in love with her. How could he be enamored of his bride when, on their wedding day, he had assured her that she could return to her home in England as soon as she had given him a son? Marrying Connor MacAlister had been an impulsive act for Brenna. But MacAlister and his warriors, a savage-looking band who had captured her and her party en route to her arranged marriage with another, offered precious few alternatives.

Denise From Minnesota says: "A wonderful book completely ruined by editing."

This has been a favorite of mine for years but the abridged version left out some of the funniest quirks that make the caracters endearing. Great book but try to find the unabriged version if posible.
