He was tall, at least six feet, with dirty blond hair that hung over his eyes. His T-shirt read Nietzsche Is My Homeboy. So, that was Matt. Who Julie Seagles likes. A lot. But there is also Finn. Who she flat out loves. Complicated? Awkward? Completely. But really, how was this freshly-minted Boston transplant and newbie college freshman supposed to know that she would end up living with the family of an old friend of her mother’s? This was all supposed to be temporary.

Where does Flat-Out Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This has got to be one of my favorite audiobooks. The story was good, engaging, romantic, dramatic, and sweet. The narrator's performance was incredible. I listen to 30 audiobooks a year, her narration was incredible.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I might not have cried, but I definitely choked up and gasped. The story and performance was very emotional and it really came through.

    Any additional comments?

This was fantastic! I will definitely get more from this author and look for this narrator again. Excellent.

What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

What was most disappointing about Veronica Roth’s story?

This series showed such promise! For what could have been a profound and thought-provoking trilogy, the final book (in my opinion) ended on a pat and somewhat cheap note. I understand why Ms. Roth chose the path she did, but she could have made the point in a better way. I completely tuned out after the big event in the book and honestly didn't really care about what happened in the rest of the story.

The story in which a 16-year-old is chosen by her government to undergo The Testing, which decides if she gets to go to The University. The University is for the country’s best and brightest teens and puts the rebuilding and future leadership of the United Commowealth in their hands. During The Testing, extreme psychological and physical trials pit them against one another to determine which teens have what it takes to become a leader.

What made the experience of listening to The Testing the most enjoyable?

This was a very engaging story and I can't wait to read the rest in the series. There were some similarities between this and the Hunger Games, but the story stands on its own. Some of the twists I didn't see coming and the characters were interesting. The narrator was good and didn't detract from the story.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Morton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to her before. She is one of the better narrators. My only complaint is that she pronounces the "o" in opossum. Most people just day "possum". It was a little jarring every time she did it.

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels. Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns 16 and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test.

What did you love best about Sweet Evil?

I thought the story was fairly original. I liked the interpersonal relationships between the characters and it really kept my attention.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Evil?

I liked how Annie really grew into herself and you could see her evolve throughout the book. I also liked the love triangle tension.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This was great. It definitely kept me listening longer than I thought I would.

    Any additional comments?

    I can't wait for sequels!

I actually liked this story. It was interesting and held my attention the whole time. I am a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction. I will definitely get the sequel. The narrators were good. It took me a bit to get into the dual narrators, but I enjoyed it.

Seven years ago Kaylin fled the crime-riddled streets of Nightshade, knowing that something was after her. Children were being murdered— and all had the same odd markings that mysteriously appeared on her own skin….Since then, she's learned to read, she's learned to fight and she's become one of the vaunted Hawks who patrol and police the City of Elantra. Alongside the winged Aerians and the immortal Barrani, she's made a place for herself, far from the mean streets of her birth.

It sounded interesting, but I just couldn't get into it. The story seemed very superficial. It hinted at backstory but never delivered. I slogged through towards the end, but didn't find anything redeemable other than the narrator. She did a great job with a terrible story.

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.

    Story

Of course the story is fantastic, but the production is weak! Cheesy background "musical effects" detract from the story rather than enhance it. The narrator isn't consistent with the accents (and the first narrator of the series was sooo much better!) Also, there are a number of times when you can hear an echo when the narrator speaks. Did anyone even listen to this in post-production?

Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

    Story

I took a chance on a book I hadn't heard of and I am so glad I did! I fell in love with the story and the narrator is amazing! Usually I find accents very distracting in audiobooks, but this had me riveted. My only one complaint is that the narrator pronounces one character's name differently in this book than the others in the series. It was a little disconcerting at first. But overall a great story and great performance.
