Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Would you listen to Steve Jobs again? Why?

I think autobiographies are usually only a one-time read, but possibly if I end up needing to do some research in the future I might.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Steve Jobs?

The book covers so much of Steve Jobs life that you would never have known, so it's hard to pinpoint one thing. But I suppose his superior work ethic should be recognized.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When he spoke about flying to Kyoto for sushi with his son.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sure... but that would have been impossible.

    Any additional comments?

    Two thumbs up!

We are excited to present our members with a gift that is truly unique: an original essay, available exclusively here at Audible, written and voiced by best-selling author – and fellow listener – Ann Patchett. This Is the Story of a Happy Marriage is a very real love story, and one that is much more about the journey than the destination.

What disappointed you about This Is the Story of a Happy Marriage?

I thought this book was going to provide some insight into having a happy marriage, but all I got from it was this woman droning on about her life. Definitely not what I expected.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ann Patchett again?

    Probably not

How could the performance have been better?

    Good question

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I couldn't get through it. Glad it was free.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Source Field Investigations to be better than the print version?

I have no idea if the audio version is better than the print version. I know I would never have gotten through the book as quickly as I did the audio, but that's just because I'm a multi-tasker.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

How far down the rabbit-hole would you like to go?

    Any additional comments?

There really is a compelling amount of information here. With that comes dozens of references, to which I will probably spend the next 5 years of my life following up with. If even 10% of what is said in this is true, we as a human race need to get our sh*t together.
