MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina, were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever. Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

Do not buy this book if you have not read the others in the series! I bought this based on audible suggestions, and am extremely disappointed. It is clearly the last in the series (which I have not read), and is very difficult to understand without that information. It reads as a last chapter, not a stand alone book. I've seen other reviews, and apparently, the series is great, but do yourself a favor and start with book one.

Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving him is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him.

    "Grammar????"
    Overall

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was good...but I agree that I did not think it was phenominal, like I did with Davinci Code. But, I did enjoy listening, and it kept my attention, although I felt it was a little more predictable than the other two. My biggest problem was the poor grammar that was used. I dont know if it was the writer, or the narrator who made the errors. But, I was thrown by non-words such as orientated. Seriously....I counted at least 6 that were bad enough to be distracting. For a best selling author....I expect better.
