There couldn't be a fire along the Jorgmund Pipe. It was the last thing the world needed. The Pipe was what kept the Livable Zone safe from the bandits, monsters, and nightmares the Go-Away War had left in its wake. Enter Gonzo Lubitsch and the Haulage & HazMat Emergency Civil Freebooting Company, a team of troubleshooters who roll into action when things get hot.

Wow! WOW! Completely wonderful, crazycakes novel! A story of love, friendship, loyalty, ninjas, revenger magicians, mimes and a mighty long pipe! Also kind of touching. Don't ruin it for yourself by reading any reviews. Unless you are an accountant or a worm geneticist, I think you'll love every moment.

It is into the mist-shrouded heart of this forbidden, mountainous realm that our plucky and intrepid heroes, Jasper Dash: Boy Technonaut and his friends Lily Gefelty and Katie Mulligan, must journey to unravel a terrible mystery. Come along on a tale of grand adventure that includes in its pages: Lost cities! Tentacles! Monks! Dinosaurs! Gangsters! Cheap suits! Eye doctors! And, of course, the fabled curse of the jaguar!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A wonderful melange of parodies of Indiana Jones, Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys. Very funnily, wittily written. The less I say the better. Go out and get this audiobook for the young smartypants in your household and for yourself as well. Enjoyable for all age 8 and up, I feel.

What other book might you compare Jasper Dash and the Flame-Pits of Delaware to and why?

It's as hysterical as Zombie Mommy, also by M.T. Anderson. Now, if only we could get THAT amazing book on audible.com.... (hint, hint)

Have you listened to any of Marc Cashman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    n/a

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Look pal, one media at a time. Just read the book and be happy!

    Any additional comments?

In the spring of 1974, Calliope Stephanides, a student at a girls' school in Grosse Pointe, finds herself drawn to a chain-smoking, strawberry-blonde classmate with a gift for acting. The passion that furtively develops between them - along with Callie's failure to develop physically - leads Callie to suspect that she is not like other girls. In fact, she is not really a girl at all.

Chris says: "Great Pulitzer Winning novel!"
"Only 1 thing wrong with otherwise terrific audio"
    Overall

Narrator often mispronounces certain place names, such as "Noe Valley" in San Francisco.
But screw that, what a terrific audio book. Great reading of a great story. It flies by--I would eagerly read a sequel...
