June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic - and each other - and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government's elite circles as Princeps Elect while Day has been assigned a high level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them once again. Just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic's border cities.

I absolutely loved this trilogy! I fell in love w/this couple. This last installment is amazing! There is edge of your seat action, nail biting stressful situations, parts that guy at your heart strings & parts that devistate your thoughts on where it's going. The ending had me longing for a 4th book-I want to know more.

Great narration. Solid no gap story line. There is nothing left to question about the wars, the plagues, etc, all is answered. Well, there is one question left to ponder but it's a good one.

The prequel to the New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series. Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the Earth, and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there's something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it's mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.

I read a review that said, "Read this first!" You do NOT have to do that. I read all 3 in the original series first then read this one. I can't say reading this book first will do you any good really, in reference to understanding anything prior to reading it in order of release date. I liked this book and I felt at peace w/how the plague/illness started. I would have liked to have learned more about what Thomas and the others did while in the care of WICKED. It wouldn't have made a difference to the story, it's just what I was curious about. No big.

This will show you how the world breaks down more so than Book 2 & 3. Very interesting and well worth the read. I gave the 4 stars on "story" only because I wanted to hear more about Thomas during his stay w/WICKED. That's all.

Thomas knows that Wicked can't be trusted, but they say the time for lies is over, that they've collected all they can from the Trials and now must rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission. It's up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test. What Wicked doesn't know is that something's happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can't believe a word of what Wicked says. The time for lies is over.

Book 3 of the Maze Runner. Loved it. Many questions answered. Wrapped up respectfully. You will have closure on what happens to your beloved characters. I'm happy I finally ignored certain reviews (only a few bad ones) and took a leap of faith.

Very good ending to the series.

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. No more puzzles. No more variables. And no more running. Thomas was sure that escape meant he and the Gladers would get their lives back. But no one really knew what sort of life they were going back to. In the Maze, life was easy... until Teresa triggered the end. In the world outside the Maze, however, the end was triggered long ago. Burned by sun flares and baked by a new, brutal climate, the earth is a wasteland....

I nearly missed out a fantastic series because for months I let a small few negative reviews sway me. One specific review sated that teenagers couldn't possibly be so stupid.

IGNORE any review that rates these under 3.5 *'s.

This series tells a compelling story where the "whats really going on here" stays hidden from you un til the very end. You have ideas & theories of your own as with any book you read. However, this one keeps you unsure till the end. I like a book w/action, mystery and suspence that you can't see through early to midway through.

The teenagers mentioned above aren't stupid. You have to read/listen to it to understand why they don't grasp whats happened to them. I'm not going to ruin it for you. If you saw the movie and thought, huh, wonder what they left out...TONS! So much is answered for you. Well, much is answered anyway. If you hated the entire premise of the movie than don't read/listen.

The narrater is fantastic, giving each character a true voice.

    Enjoy

Mackenzie Allen Phillips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in this midst of his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack one wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change his life forever.

I read this book upon a recommendation from a friend. She peaked my interest w/this line, "I don't want to ruin anything thing about this book but seriously, God shows up as this warm, kind black woman like from Touched by an Angel." I was all in.

This book is to be read as a parable, not as a true story. It is a book that will completely remove your mind from it's faith box. It's not pro one faith or the other as far as Christianity goes. Baptist, Chatholic, Lutheron etc. It sincerely opened my mind, my heart and gave me an understanding of the Trinity I desperetly needed.

You read it and make your own decision. The author did a fantastic job bringing the characters alive and the narrator only made it easier to connect.

    Enjoy.

I'm looking forward to starting Book 1 (this was Book 0.5). I downloaded the rest of the series, even preordered Book 4 (September 2) as well as the kindle versions. This is an interesting story about a young girl rescued & turned into an assassin. It's reminiscent of the tv show Nikita only w/ Kings, Queens and Kingdoms. I liked the idea of it all and found the story interesting.

My only confusion or thing I graple with is this young girl is an assassin, how is it w/ her caution, care & training does she not catch on to the betrayal she is delt. I give her a pass based upon the fact that she is 16 when this story starts. I'm hoping to see her mature through out these next books.

Performance: Please forgive me, I'm picky. I'm an Emma Galvin, Therese Plummer fan. Some review I've read dislike my chosen narrators. It's just me. I feel Evans read Celina a bit too snotty but the voice for her is perfect. Make sense? I don't like how nasty she reads her at times when I feel Celina may have been being defencive not a brat. Her male voices are awful. But I'm sticking w/the audible & kindle version as I enjoy the story. Evans isn't horrid perhaps not my cup of tea is all.

If you're into the serious mysteries than this may not be for you. This is a fun read, gal pals, wealthy friends & a past murder or was it? It's spooky but won't keep you up at night. If you like the concept of The Walking Dead you'll enjoy this book. Lots of funny toilet paper references. I say TWD concept because, at least in this short story, he's the only survivor we meet, aside from Alice (ahhh Alice). So while there may be others this is not a group of people surviving together. So it's completely one sided.

    Narration is perfect.
