If you like Nora Roberts, you will love this modern day storyline based on an historical event. It's exciting and funny with interesting characters you would like to meet...even the whiney mother! I bought the hard cover book for my home library as soon as it was released because, hey, I'm a big fan but this audio version is excellent too. Bernadette Quigley creates distint characters with Irish and American accents and her narration makes a great story better! I highly recommend this audio version to anyone and especially to Nora Roberts-aholics like me.
The story. It keeps you guessing.
Sgt Hemingway. I love how he thinks.
This is another great performance by Ulli Birve. A real professional.
No crying but I laughed...a lot!
I love Georgette Heyer books, especially the mysteries, and A BLUNT INSTRUMENT is my favorite Heyer mystery. It shows off Heyer's skill in creating characters that make the reader interested in the story. She paints such a vivid picture of the social culture of the time period that it becomes an element of the story. Bottom Line: This story is fun and Ulli Birve gives another great performance so you can't go wrong with this book if you like English mysteries and/or books by Georgette Heyer.
I love all my audiobooks and the JD Robb audiobooks are particular favorites. The stories are fun and fresh. Susan Ericksen's performance makes the characters come alive and enhances every story.
Eve Dallas. She's a survivor!
Her characterizations are unique so you always know which character is speaking. She also "gets" each character and that comes across in her performance!
I always laugh in Eve Dallas books and I sometimes cry. This one just made me want to see justice done!
I want more Eve Dallas and company stories and I want Susan Ericksen to perform them!
I already have listened to it more than once. Whenever a new book comes out, I go back and listen to all of them from the beginning. Sort of like my own version of a "marathon". I enjoy them.
Reality TV can be hazardous to your health
I love the Danny Boyle character and the books are special because they are told from his point of view which is a little sarcatic and often very funny. It has been fun to see him mature in the books from boy to man. Like all of us, he still has some room to grow so I hope the books keep coming.
Funny, Fresh, Quirky
Any of the other books in the Andy Carpenter series because they are all wonderful!
The scene in the courtroom where Andy saves the dog.
For the love of a dog...
I do not like lawyer books but I LOVE this series. More, please!
Better? hmmm maybe because I really enjoy Grover Gardner's performance.
Andy Carpenter because I love the way the character thinks.
His delivery of the book makes me laugh out loud. I think his performance makes a wonderful character even more wonderful!
Tara because I think she would be good company!
I am a BIG fan of this series and I can't wait for the new one coming out in July. How long before it's available on Audible?
John Sandford is great at description. His characters are real-bad habits and not always tightly wrapped! He makes you "see" an area that he clearly loves and he tells a good story. I like all of his books but especially the Virgil Flowers series! I love series with interesting characters that make you want to read more about them. You can't go wrong with a book by John Sandford.
Not "edge of my seat" but certainly in it until the story was finished.
Narrators can make or break a good audiobook. Eric is a very good narrator. He is perfect for this series and I enjoy the sound of his voice.
No, I can't say that. I just liked the whole thing which I think is more important.
My first experience with John Sanford was Buried Prey and Rules of Prey (different series and very good!) so I decided to see if there were more from him that I would like. I'm so glad I found this Virgil Flowers series and I'm looking forward to the rest of the books. The narrator is great!
Virgil of course!
I'm a new Sanford fan so I hope he keeps writing for a long time!
Thank you Audible for the special offer that encouraged me to buy this book. The whole John Ceepak and Danny Boyle series is fun and it holds your interest. I have all the John Ceepak books now and I'm waiting for the next one in the series.
