YES! Edit down the blow by blow account of EVERY step, breath, etc. We ALL know how to walk and breath...move on.....
meandering...much ado about nothing. So when SOMETHING does happen, I was too numb from boredom and overwrought prose to react or feel anything towards the characters or the convoluted story-line.
none. they all blend into overly descriptive non-sense
for god's sake, there was a decent story there to be told...yet got bogged down by lack of editing
I love the clever banter and the "easy-going" manner of narration.
no! Just because I enjoy a good read, it certainly does not mean that "laughter/crying" is a necessity....
These questions are juvenile and offensive!
The story/plot was absurd and juvenile. A "church mouse" meets "samurai". The hero's name was actually "Ronin" SERIOUSLY??? The narration was awful; sooo "Fargo" - the North Dakota/Minnesota dialect is fine, yet, NOT particularly sexy! Yuck. I think it is also misleading to state that this is a "dual" narration (i.e. Rachel Vivette and Luke Daniels). I love Luke Daniels narrations and was really looking forward to hearing it; however, he only narrates the last 6 minutes of the book. Well, THAT sucked.
She should stick to her "cowboy" crap stories.
Wrath's vulnebility was heart-breaking.
It's pretty much like the rest of the series. I mean I read the other books in the series, and, well, it's formulaic. But I still enjoy them.
Hmmmm. NO. Her "male" voices are ALL aweful; they either sound juvenile or bi-polar constipated.
I hate these stupid questions. Wish I could just ignore and write a review! Oh wait...I can! I completely disagree with a lot of the readers who compared this series to JR Ward's BDB. I absolutely LOATHED BDB! Thought it was juvenile and HATED the very DATED "cool" vernacular. Just sounded rediculous, awkward & embarassing. Like when your parents try to act "cool". Anyway, THIS series ROCKS!!
LOVE his narration! Spot on! Perfect!
YES, PLEASE DO AWAY WITH THESE STUPID QUESTIONS!!!
Never read the print....so N/A
Hard to say...the entire storyline arc just comes together. And Pestilence is redeemed.
Wonderful narrator. She voices the characters clearly (i.e. gives then their own "voice/identity" so the listener is never confused as to who is speaking. She also infuses the characters and her "lines" with feelings and emotes properly.
It's really hard to say. I was moved and captivated throughout the entire book (and the whole series).
I saw on Amazon that there will be another installment titles Reves (the angel). Would love to see it on audible as well whenever it comes out.
I did like the story. However, ended up purchasing this on Kindle to read. Just can't stand the "Lithium +Xanax" narration. I mean, really?! The narrator is have or full-pon baked, and asleep. AWFUL!!!
The story is fine. I preferred to actually "read" it than listen to the audio.
As mentioned above, HORRID! Ms. Xe Sands sounds like she's overdosed on every kind of "down" med there is?!
Book - OK. Narration - SUCKS
I loved Luke Daniels' narration. It was PERFECT! Flimsy plot/storyline. same old , same old. We've seen this in EVERY book of (Iron Druid). No character development AT ALL!! I just don't care about them anymore.
No. Just this series.
I would NOT read these ; only listen to with Luke Daniels.
Yes, it was quite short. However, I certainly do not think it's worth the $19+
Very disappointed. It's like the author just gave up! And so will I.
I really enjoyed Gage's inner turmoil and a glimpse into his past to appreciate the story-line.
Gage. He seems the most "developed" of the characters in this book. The rest are pretty much caricatures.
GREAT with male characters, the females...not so much. His voice and inflection made the women all sound "mentally impaired/deficient",, the writing added to this; the women were simply not written as "actual people" outside of the "big tit", ""big eyes" & "long blond hair" BS. So, altogether, not completely the narrator's fault..still, he could at least make them "sound" less clinically retarded/slow.
I wouldn't make a film of this. It's a "fun/quick" read/listen, but not much else.
Suspense. Repetitive. WTF
YES!!!! I really like the Mercy Thompson series; however, these books are not meant to be a "stand alone" read, so since the reader has been following the series - there is really no need to "backtrack" and re-reference other books and known "facts" so much. I think that nearly 30% of this book was explaining to the reader - yet again (YAWN) - what an alpha is and what a dominant does etc, etc, etc....
The narrator is EXCELLENT!!! She brings the characters to life with the proper dialects, inflections, humor. Just absolutely PERFECT!
Stop "padding" the book with previously (throughout six other books) stated facts and don't backtrack the action to other books for reference. The "print" paperback is already pretty thin, no reason to make these books into "pamphlets".
Atticus fights gods.
Atticus; he is consistently himself (bad and good), his arrogance and bravado.
Atticus and The Morgan (battle crow)!!
The battle for the Dwarf Realm.
I know a lot of people really enjoy Oberon; however, I'm getting a bit weary of "canine" humor. I don't want to read an entire book from the point of view of a dog. Just wish Oberon was a "tad" less prominent in this one. It's like listening to a five year old making "fart" jokes". Got it the first time....move on.... Too YA in this one. LOVE the Luke Daniels narration. Absolutely perfect for ALL characters (and there are many).
