Take an exit off the Jersey Turnpike to the irresistible world of Stephanie Plum, America's favorite bounty hunter, where she gets into more trouble than ever. This time, she faces a notorious gang in Trenton who wants her dead. Morelli warns that she's in too deep, and Stephanie more than agrees.

John says: "A Fun Story with distinct characters"
    "I love Plum!"
    Overall

I've been hooked on Stephanie, Joe, Ranger, Gramma, et al since the very first book! I love the lighthearted comedy that Janet writes, with just a twist of drama. I thoroughly enjoy all her books, and this one was up there with the rest! (Since I'm originally from Pt. Pleasant, I just had to smile)

  • City of Masks: A Cree Black Thriller

Daniel Hecht has created a plausible, heart-stopping ghost thriller. Relying on the science of parapsychology to spine-tingling effect, he brings to life a remarkably compelling character in Cree Black, as well as the ghosts she confronts.

    JoAnn Marcon says: "Unusual thriller"
    "Para-emotional"
    Overall

Aw, Cree! You are such an emotional mess! I love it! Just listening to your inner tormoil while trying to untangle and figure out others! What a fun time of it I had, listening to you take bits from other's lives and intertwine them with your own. You'll solve other's situations long before you will your own. I love how deep human (and inhuman) emotion, loose science and psychology mix up to make for such a fun story!

Edgar Allan Poe is an American boy in England, a child standing on the edge of mysteries. In 1819, two Americans arrive in London. Soon afterward a bank collapses. A man is found horribly mutilated on a building site and an heiress flirts with her inferiors. All the while, Poe's young schoolmaster struggles to understand what is happening before he and his loved ones are destroyed. But the truth has its origins in the New World and the Old, in a bitter episode of corruption during the War of 1812.

    Anne says: "worthwhile"
    "Not my cup of tea"
    Overall

Extremely long and boring. I just could not get involved in the story. Dickens' Great Expectations is much better.
