In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh went into a cornfield and shot himself. Or did he? Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life... and then walk a mile to a doctor's house for help? Who was the crooked little "color man" Vincent had claimed was stalking him across France? And why had the painter recently become deathly afraid of a certain shade of blue? These are just a few of the questions confronting Vincent's friends who vow to discover the truth of van Gogh's untimely death.

What did you like best about Sacre Bleu? What did you like least?

It was amusing, but every character seemed to have the same sarcastic sense of humor.

Would you be willing to try another book from Christopher Moore? Why or why not?

For sure. I've read or listened to every other book he's released and enjoyed them all. This one just happens to be my least favorite. I wouldn't listen to it again.

Have you listened to any of Euan Morton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to Fool and one of the Dune books he's performed. He's not my favorite voice actor, but he does a good job with all the characters. I really have no complaints about his reading this book.

Did Sacre Bleu inspire you to do anything?

I was inspired to write this review.

    Any additional comments?

To anyone that this review turned off from buying this title, I'd encourage you to listen to Lamb, The Stupidest Angel, or A Dirty Job, all from Christopher Moore. I'd consider those his 3 best.

What about Scot Wilcox’s performance did you like?

Scot Wilcox really tried to make this entertaining. He changed his voice for each character, and really went over the top with Powerhouse.

Was Tales of the Dim Knight worth the listening time?

I'm torn about this. This could have a been a fun yet stereotypical super hero story. It didn't take itself too serious and had many funny moments. What I didn't like was how they put all the religious propaganda into it. The book is broken into chapters with the superhero vs some bad guy, and about half of them end up involve religion, going to church, or something else along those lines. No where in the publisher's summary or the author's website does it mention anything about religion and how large a part it plays in this book.

Please don't take this to mean I'm anti-religion as I consider myself a religious person. But I'm not a fan of it being pushed on me in a book like this.

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for a super hero tale with many low IQ characters and religious notes, this could be perfect for you.

In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

Would you listen to The Wind Through the Keyhole again? Why?

I might, yes. I plan on listening to all the Dark Tower books again in order.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wind Through the Keyhole?

I enjoyed how the Man in Black made an appearance.

Which character – as performed by Stephen King – was your favorite?

I think Stephen King did a better job reading this book then most are willing to give him credit. He did I good job with all the characters, but if I was to pick a favorite I would have to say young Roland.

    Any additional comments?

If Stephen King happens to be reading this review, thank you for writing this book. Another story of Roland was an unexpected treat.

With this outrageous new novel, China Miéville has written one of the strangest, funniest, and flat-out scariest books you will read this—or any other—year. The London that comes to life in Kraken is a weird metropolis awash in secret currents of myth and magic, where criminals, police, cultists, and wizards are locked in a war to bring about—or prevent—the End of All Things.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

There was so much wrong with this book I don't even know what I'd suggest. At the time I write this I have over 300 books in my Audible library. This has been the only book that I've given a 1 rating to it's story. After 8 hours of straight listening, I couldn't tell you who any of the characters were, what they were doing, or why they were doing it. This book is everywhere. It seems very random to me. Random and boring. The characters are bland and don't make an impact.

I'm very disappointed in this book. After reading the publisher summary and some other reviews I really thought I'd enjoy this title. Thanks for trying John Lee.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Probably Wind Through the Key Hole by Stephen King.

What about John Lee’s performance did you like?

I've listened to quite a few books that John Lee has performed and never had a complaint before. He does a good job with a boring book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The cover is kind of nice looking. It also was the only book I've ever read/heard that talked about origami people folding.

    Any additional comments?

I'll be looking into the author's other work, but unless something really stands out I won't be making another China Mieville purchase.
