Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life. When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted.

Can too big to fail get away with murder? Read the compelling legal novel by the best-selling author of An Involuntary Spy. Brent Marks had paid his dues as a lawyer, having taken his share of divorces and drunk driving cases over his 20 year career, but had finally reached a place in his life where he could take on cases of social importance. What he least expected was for April Marsh's predatory lending case against the big banks for wrongful foreclosure on her parent's home to turn into a murder investigation.

Interesting and relevant legal tale about the devastating fallout faced by many Americans due to the greed of big banks. Detailed courtroom procedures which give the reader/listener insight into the workings of our legal system. Lack of development of the main characters (Brent, April, Angela etc.) was a problem for me. Predictable ending...

James Micheal Whren is brilliant, beautiful, rich, and taken - with his genius for creating music. He's desired by many, yet commits to no one but his muse. Just twenty-eight, and at the pinnacle of his career, on the eve of his brother's funeral his father shatters his life, and James is left abandoned in hell with no one real to save him. His odyssey to freedom takes him beyond the looking glass, to the reflection of friends and lovers. Humbled and alone, James escapes to the Greek island of Corfu.

I could not stop listening to this compelling story. The main character, James, is obsessed with music until unfortunate happenings seemingly take his life, as he knows it, away. "Insanity feeds on justification"~James (handsome, talented, and wealthy) escapes to the Greek island of Corfu to live in solitude. Elizabeth and her young son, Cameron, are also temporarily residing on the same island. This is a beautifully told tale of obsession, love, redemption, and the after effects of loss and brutality that leave permanent scars. The narrator, Greg Tremblay, was magnificent. I enjoyed every minute of this audiobook from the first word to the last. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

'A wonderfully warm and witty debut novel about family secrets and sibling rivalry' The four MacLeod sisters are no strangers to sisterly rivalry and with one of them about to be married, there are bound to be fireworks. Perfectionist Natalie wants the 'wedding of the year'. Harassed mother, Milly, just wishes her bridesmaid's dress wasn't the size of a tent. Career-obsessed Avril secretly moons over a married man and world traveler, Hazel, the youngest, yearns to be taken seriously.

Such an enjoyable story. Interesting family tale with great characters~loved them all (well, minus Jeremy and his posh parents). Four very different sisters, "looking at the world through very different lenses" and their lovable and funny mother, Peggy. Very well written and expertly narrated. Highly recommended.

This is one of the hardest reviews I have ever written. It is a story of love, loss, friendship, determination, depression, and so much more. "Life is not easy" and I doubt there is anyone who cannot relate, in some way, to the emotions and/or situations portrayed in this wonderful book. Do we choose happiness or do we let our mindset sabotage our choices? Beautifully written and exquisitely narrated. This work will stay with you long after the last word. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...

She decided long ago to be called Susan, not exactly the name her parents had given her, but the one she'd chosen... When she first opens her dream shop, Susie's Flowers, on a cold February morning, a new chapter in her life begins. She doesn't anticipate it will include meeting the most eligible bachelor in tiny Winton Springs. The definition, description, and meaning of the lily is beautiful. Narration by Tiffany Williams is superb. Recommended if you are in need of an uplifting short listen.

Taking its title from a poem that newlywed Daphne sent her soldier husband during World War II, When You Come Home tells of their young love in the heartland at the brink of war, and of the crushing uncertainty and fear as they find themselves a world apart. And when the poem comes back to Daphne - blood-stained by Raymond's mortal wounds - When You Come Home shares the extraordinary event that restored the grieving young widow's faith in the transcendent power of love.

Such a wonderful true story of love, faith, and loss during WW2. Daphne and Raymond fell in love and married but then he went to war. Their beautiful love story is so eloquently written by Daphne's daughter, Nancy. I could not stop listening~I also did not want the recording to end. THE GREATEST GENERATION is a well deserved title to those who fought in the war as well as their loved ones who supported them from home. The ration stamps, stars in the windows, and all of the sacrifices that were made by the country to support the American soldiers was so inspiring. The narration by Tiffany Williams was fabulous. Very highly recommended.

Theodore Bundy was one of the more infamous, and flamboyant, American serial killers on record, and his story is a complex mix of psychopathology, criminal investigation, and the U.S. legal system. This in-depth examination of Bundy's life and his killing spree that totaled dozens of victims is drawn from legal transcripts, correspondence and interviews with detectives and prosecutors. Using these sources, new information on several murders is unveiled.

I have read many books and articles on Ted Bundy but in this work learned so much more about the man. He was just pure evil~absolutely NO redeeming qualities. We will never know for sure how many women he murdered or how many barely escaped his depravity. Very interesting listen, great narration, and highly recommended for those interested in true crime.

Through well-crafted prose, Neva Cavataio delivers funny, hopeful, unflinching, and realistic snapshots of living with an on-going illness.
