I try to see her everytime she's in Columbus, and she is a riot! You will love this title even if you aren't gay! This is a good one.
Despite the somewhat negative reviews I've read of Guy Finely's other works, I have to say he is by far one of the greatest teachers I've heard in a long time. I enjoy the sound of his voice and I'm challenged by the depth and breadth of this thinking. Yes, he is hard to follow at times, but the gold is there. As a former born again Christian, I was put off by his references to the new testament, but he brings back meaning that I can absolutely relate to when I release my impulse to judge too quickly.
I highly recommend this audio book if you're willing to travel outside of your comfort zone.
He brings out ideas that I recognized as ringing true, but he doesn?t spoon feed very well. Don?t expect to find marketing gimmicks that tickle your ears, some of it is down right difficult but I think it?s well worth the journey.
I rarely write reviews, but this book is so worthy of your time, I feel compelled to endorse it. I have no idea who the author votes for politically, which speaks volumes for his ability to keep his biases at bay. Very well thought out and reasoned arguments for appreciating and falling in love with your country again.
If you can get past the breathy reading, it's probably got some good information in it! Honesly, it sounds like Dr. Covey is running a marathon while he's speaking to the audience and it's very distracting.
