While on a singles tour of Europe, Seattle's own Pia Thomason is looking for a man and trying not to think about her 40th birthday. Too bad her choice of suitors is less than appealing. But when she meets two mysterious strangers in Iceland, Pia becomes immersed in an undead love affair.

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has won numerous awards for her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, which has been adapted into the hit HBO show True Blood. In this 13th and final book, a murder rocks the town of Bon Temps and Sookie is arrested for the crime. After making bail, she sets out to clear her name - but her investigation only leads to more deaths.

Kathryn says: "It's not about the Beau. It's about the writing."

Would you try another book from Charlaine Harris and/or Johanna Parker?

I will try other books even though she truly ruined the series ending.

Has Dead Ever After turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

    Sookie

What character would you cut from Dead Ever After?

    None

    Any additional comments?

This was Charlaine's chance to highlight Eric as the heroic lover. To show that he was willing to do whatever it took to be with Sookie. He could have killed the queen and Phillipe before the wedding to thwart their hold over him. There are SO many more ways to have the romantic, heart felt ending that this series deserved. Instead we got this unispiring, boring ending that just leaves you stunned and wondering what happened to the grand romantic jesture that makes a great series finale!

The book just left me wondering what Charlaine was thinking? The person Sookie ends up with is the last person that you would want. Such a disappointing ending for a great series.
