"OUTSTANDING-BUT BEWARE!"
This was the first Kenyon book that I listened to and I was instantly hooked. The narration of the this book is outstanding and the scope of its story is absolutely engaging. I will offer a warning, however. This book is not for the faint of heart. There are intense, and explicit scenes of violence and sexuality.
"Kept my Heart Pounding"
I really liked this book. The issue that I had with it was that I did see Clint Eastwood as this character and yet, because of the movie, I could not picture anyone else. The story itself, though was good.
"Break from the Norm!"
This book was reccommended to me and is not my normal cup of tea, but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if you are not a "War Story" kind of person, you will probably like this book. It was engaging and gave me a greater appreciation for what our servive men and women go through. Give this book a try. I don't think you will be sorry.
"Good but not GREAT!"
I liked this book, but I had a real hard time getting into it at first. I was not instantly engaged as I have been with other Connelly books. if you are a die hard Connelly fan, then get it, but if not, try some of his others and skip this one.
"Predictable but Worth the Listen."
I really enjoyed this book. It held my interest with enough action and drama. The only negative was that I guessed the "Who Done It?" part of the book early on.
"EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!"
This is one of the most moving stories that I have ever listened to. Poitier's character is what I would want in a husband or a son. If you are raising a boy, read this book. If you are finding a spouse, read this book. If you want a clear definition of what a good man is, read this book. If you are an educator, as I am, read this book and mention it to your students.
"Snooze-Fest"
This was the most uneventful, boring book that I have ever listened to. I hate to comment so negatively because two other Philippa Gregory books were outstanding - The Constant Princess and The Other Bolyn Girl. Don't bother with this one!
"Very Intriguing!"
This is a very well-crafted, interesting book. I would reccommend reading The Constant Princess first and then this book. It makes for a chronologically interesting story. Definitely worth the read.
"Must Read!"
This is by far the best Philippa Gregory book I have listened to. It is beautifully written and the way she weaves the character of Catherine is outstanding. The perspective of this book was great. There is so much written about Anne, and Elizabeth and they are generally the focus of writings when it comes to the Tudor dynasty, but this glimpse into how it all may have begun is just exquisite!
"Not an Edge of Your Seat Type of Book"
This is a Harry Bosch book, and therefore, it is entertaining, but I have to say that it was the least interesting of the ones that I have read so far. I did not like the love interest in this book.
