They found the town silent, apparently abandoned. Then they found the first body strangely swollen and still warm. One hundred fifty were dead, 350 missing. But the terror had only begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California.

Crystal says: "GREAT story. HORRIBLE narrator!"
    "Great story"
    Overall

Except for a slow beginning - lots of time spent with characters hovering over dead bodies - the story is great. Good suspense, scary (& sort of plausible) idea.

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

Vida T. Yancy says: "Very Good"
    "Entertaining But Over The Top"
    Overall

The bad guys are sooo bad, and the good are over the top good, but the story and plot are okay. It might have been a better book without the hero being so pro-Marine Corps - if you're a gungy Marine - you'll enjoy it.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out in The Shadow Rising, book four of the Wheel of Time, as The Shadow is rising to cover humankind. In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve. Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn.

Mica says: "The BEST of the Wheel of Time"
    "The best sci-fi series ever"
    Overall

If you're looking for a series to fuel your sci-fi addiction, pick Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. This is book #4, and it's as good as #1,2 & 3 - I recommend reading the books first - then going back & listening to them - or listen to #1, read #2, listen to #3 - the narrators are among the very best - you'll be hooked!
