A good, lighthearted murder mystery. Wonderfully rich plot with enough twists and turns to keep me guessing whodunit until the very end!
With M.C. Beaton's devilish and witty characters and Davina Porter's amazing ability to bring them to life, every book in this series is an absolute delight!
I've read two Jean Harrington mysteries now and have thoroughly enjoyed them both. The characters are delightfully fun and the plot has just enough twists to keep the reader guessing. Quintessential cozy mysteries!
Caution: If you're like me, you'll find the first chapter tough to endure. The narrator starts out rather flat and the storyline fails to entice.
But hang in there! By the middle of the second chapter, the narrator gets some fun new characters to wok with -- and the plot starts to get juicy. Settle back and enjoy what turns into a delightful and silly little mystery.
This is my second Dotsy Lamb listen and I'm already a huge fan! Maria Hudgins has given us some fabulous characters to connect with. Somehow, she's managed to allow them to be over 50 and perfectly contemporary. Neither too "hip" nor too "dowdy." Just right.
Her plot, too, is terrific. A lot of twists and turns with a bit of learning (in this case, about Greek artifacts) built in. I truly didn't figure out who "did it" until our heroine did. Again, just right.
Thank you, Maria Hudgins! And may we have some more, please?
