"Great Mystery!"
One of my all-time favorite books. I love the continual twists right to the end!
"A Light, Mindless Romance"
If you are looking for a light, mindless romance, that makes you laugh, this book is perfect. If you want a scholarly work on the Napoleonic Wars, you will be sadly disappointed. As I was seeking the first, I was very pleased with this latest addition and look forward to the next book in the series as soon as Lauren Willig can write it!
"Just read a plot summary"
The book drags on and while some of the points are interesting, I was not too upset that I fell asleep for large portions of the narrative.
"Narrator Change Mid-Series"
The story itself was enjoyable as all the books in the Pink Carnation Series have been, but the change in narrator made the listening less that I had hoped.
"Not as creepy as you would expect from cadavers"
Mary Roach does an excellent job of tackling this "taboo" topic in a respectful and informative way.
"Interesting Concept"
Throughly enjoyable. I didn't know what to expect with this selection, but I was hooked right to the end.
"Hilarious!"
As a fan of the Scarlet Pimpernel, I absolutely loved the Secret History of the Pink Carnation! The exploits of the ladies both in the past and modern day kept me interested and glad that there were several more books to follow! If you are looking for a laugh and aren't too fussy about your historical accuracy, this is definitely worth a try!
"Alert - Narrator Change"
The story was fine, but the new narrator can't compare to the previous guy, this really killed the series for me.
"I Never Get Sick of Listening to This One"
Not your typical war/post-war story. This is my favorite Nevil Shute book, and the narration by Robin Bailey sets the scene perfectly.
"Great Book, Great Narrator, Great Listen"
Any romantic can't help but love this tale. Spies, dandies, imminent death, what more could you want.
"Sleeping Beauty with a Twist"
Orson Scott Card did as well with this fairytale as he has with the Ender books.
