This book finally moved the story along quite a bit after all the set up in the last book.
I listened to all three parts in two days and most of the time could follow who was who.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

I re listened to The Way of Kings first and then Radiance so I had many hours of pleasure.
Much, as in the WOT, is confusing and hard to follow but I think much of that will come together in future books. In the case of listening to a book with this much information there is no way to go back and reread parts you did not understand the first time around. I plan to stop at a book store and go through some parts of it and look at the pictures it is suppose to have throughout.

Some time in the past I tried to read GRR Martin's epic fantasy series but stopped after the first two books. Every character I liked was killed off very quickly so there was no pleasure in reading these books. I read for enjoyment so I am praying B Sanderson will not do the same sort of thing to often unless some of them pass from old age over the next 8 books.
I am old enough that I might not be around for the end of the series so I want each to be awesome in it's own right. So far so good!

The narrators are the best. I have listened to many books simply because they are being read by one or the other of them.

Mexican drug cartels are shooting up the streets of Laredo and El Paso. Somali pirates are holding three U.S. tankers for ransom. The President of the United States is fed up and, as Commander in Chief, has what he thinks is a pretty bright idea — to get hold of Colonel Charley Castillo and his merry band and get them on the case. Unfortunately, that will be difficult. Everybody knows that the President hates Castillo’s guts, and has just had him forcibly retired from the military, and now Castillo’s men are scattered far and wide, many of them in hiding.

I feel the author decided to waste our time and money with this book in the series. He mocks the president, uses at least half the book to tell us what happened in the previous books in the series,
then proceeds to write some sort of comedy in very bad taste.

    No More

Has Eye for an Eye turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not unless they do the same cop out

    Which scene was your favorite?

    None

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Eye for an Eye?

    Killing of my favorite character

    Any additional comments?

When the author can't figure out how to motivate his main character without killing off one of the best characters in the books then he should not write this book and go start something else.
That Character could have been the base for a different series or would have added something to this one if developed but no had to cop out and kill her off.

Afraid that a botched rescue will further destabilize foreign policy and end his presidency, the Commander-in-Chief falters. But when the Special Ops community learns that one of their own is being tortured and will almost certainly be killed, no executive order will stop them from attempting a rescue mission.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I listen to a variety and multitude of fiction almost daily and I have my favorites but this one held my attention from start to finish in one day. This seems to be the first book written by this author at least I did not find any others in audible so I hope his future books are just as good.

If you like Flynn, Taylor, Webb, Thor kind of books you will love this one.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Gil and Brooks and Pope sounds interesting if there are future books.

What about Brian Hutchison’s performance did you like?

Easy to listen to in normal voice and he did not affect the flow of the book in any way. Sometimes I listen to books in fast speed because the narrator drags on or because the book does but not this time. He is the type of narrator who is enjoyable listening to his voice besides the story. I have several favorite narrators where I will listen to the books they read just because it is them reading it rather then because I know anything about the author. I will check out other books where he is the narrator.

    Any additional comments?

It would have been nice to know how Brooks dealt with her addiction.

You have never met an (ex) FBI agent like Brigid Quinn Brigid’s career - the disappearance and presumed murder of her young protégée, Jessica. Floyd knows things about that terrible night that were never made public, and offers to lead the cops to Jessica's body in return for a plea bargain. It should finally be the end of a dark chapter in Brigid’s life. Except…the new FBI agent on the case, Laura Coleman, thinks the confession is fake, and Brigid finds she cannot walk away from violence and retribution after all.

If you could sum up Rage Against the Dying in three words, what would they be?

    Good First Novel

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rage Against the Dying?

Her undeniable self fearlessness in work mode ability with a total lack of personal self worth. I am not sure I believe that if you kill someone in self defense that you should be considered a murderer.

Have you listened to any of Judy Kaye’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I listened in fast mode so hard to tell

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Angered me when they lost Jessica, why turn off listening device?

Would you consider the audio edition of All of Me to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version but loved listening to Anne read her own book.

What did you like best about this story?

I am the same age as Anne so I could really relate to all the history of her life time.

What about Anne Murray’s performance did you like?

Hey she sounds like her songs so if you are a fan what could be better plus there are a few bits of them throughout the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I would not make a movie of this book since she is alive and well and there is no actress that can be her....not even her daughter who is her own person.

Would you try another book from James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell and/or Christian Baskous?

I have read most of James Rollins books and that is why I got this one but after listening to the first chapter of the protracted killing of a child, in light of the sadness I feel over last months mass murder of children I just knew I could not listen to any more of this book.

What could James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Wrong book at wrong time I guess

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger and Sadness at it's start so the rest of the book might be just fine but I will never know.

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. Matt, his character is so much fun.

Days before the July Fourth holiday and the dedication of One World Trade Center at Ground Zero, an incident aboard a commercial jet flying over the Atlantic Ocean reminds everyone that vigilance is not a task to be taken lightly. But for iconoclastic NYPD detective Jeremy Fisk, it may also be a signal that there is much more to this case than the easy answer of this being just the work of another lone terrorist. Fisk suspects that the event might also be a warning sign that another scheme has been set in motion.
