"A good story"
Rather long but worth the time. The idea of characters coming to life out of storeies is just SO wonderful. We loved all the references to other books. My 9 year old daughter especially liked the fact that she had all the books that the character had.
"Fairly current. Nice to listen to with a teenager"
It was enjoyable but I wouldn't listen again.
No. In fact, we had long periods between car trips when we did not listen and everyone was fine with just waiting.
"slow slow slow"
We are a couple and a 15 year old girl.
First I must confess that we all lost interest and after about 4 hours and agreed to give it up.
From the reviews it must get better later on but we just couldn't bear to listen anymore.
Bossypants by Tina Fey.
too slow
Don't know but it needs more action sooner. Some severe editting is in order.
"Slow predictable and remarkably stupid characters"
Smarter more believable characters...the boy twin is remarkably dense, even for a teen aged boy.
We didn't finish listening to it. We ( 2 adults and a 15 year old trapped in a car on a long drive) agreed to just stop the story.
"Great family listening."
I have not read the print version.
The image of a hippo in a skirt still brings a smile to my family.
"Nice if you're an Ender fan"
Nicely fills in the some blanks between other Ender stories. The pace is a little slow sometimes but worth listening to. If you're not an Ender fan, don't bother.
"slow oh so slow"
I read this as a child and have fond memories. But times have changed and compared to modern novels this is soooooo slow.
"Excellent story"
Listened to this with my 10 year old daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Wonderful story"
Good pace, wonderful characters.
Heard it with our 10 year old daughter.
"boring."
We didn't even bother finishing it.
My 11 yeaer old daughter thought the protagonist incredibly stupid and the story boring.
I had to agree with her.
