This book is a classic example of how narration can hurt a story. I really liked the story line and can't wait for the others, but the performance was just so bad. MacLeod Andrews made Nora Roberts' characters seem flat.
If you are looking for a great who-done-it told by a true word artist please pick up Murder at Marble House. Not only will you be swept into yesteryear but you will be kept guessing until the last minuet. The books just keep getting better.
So here's the deal, we meet Kenny, Bailey and Bailey's daughter like four books ago. We watch Kenny and Bailey tip-toe around each other for at least three books. So, I don't understand why Kenny and Bailey didn't get a full book. I feel cheated. There was so much more to their story that could have been.
This book was decent up until about half way through. Then it went bad. If you are looking for a romance DON'T get this book. If you are looking for a story that will leave you dissatisfied then this is the book for you.
This book had every thing it needed to be a GREAT book. You had a funny woman trying to get her life back after loosing her husband and over coming her toxic relashonship with food. You also had a hot guy that saw her for more than her dress size and was there for her, helping her to move on. At least that was what I hoped for when I downloaded the book. What I got instead was A hero I didn't really like, hours of narration that bored my socks off, head hopping like no ones business and fat shaming. The conflict of the story was she was to fat for him and how could he be with someone that wasn't on the cover of Vogue. Give me a brake.
I love Molly Harper! This book had all the classic Molly Harper wit and lightness I have come to enjoy in her books. BUT I fond the writing hard to follow and discounted and there for I couldn't get into the story. I am so sorry to have to write this review. Not her best work.
This book keeps you guessing until the last page. Alyssa Maxwell's way with words shine and makes up for the not so great narration. I can honestly say this was the BEST story I have "read" in a long time. I will surely keep an eye out for this authors work.
I don't know what all the fuss was about. This is NOT a sexy romance even though it starts off that way. I was sick of the banter going back and forth by chapter 3. By the time the hero and heroine got around to IT the IT fell flat and for me that crushed what little good the book did have. This book was WAY TO LONG.
This light hearted who done it, will have you wondering to the very end. I really enjoyed it.
If I could have given this book 10 stars I would. I love the series and wondered how Darynda Jones was going to keep it going. Now I know and can't wait until the next book.
This is a great new series, and a good first book. If you like Stephanie Plum you'll love Charley Davidson.
