    "Good, but with annoying sfx"
    Overall

Whatever your feelings on conspiracy theories, this is a fun book. Belzer is typically dry in his reading, and while I take all his facts with a grain of salt, he makes some interesting arguments.

Unfortunately, every few minutes, there are these weird, loud, annoying tin-can-as-a-rim-shot type sound effects, and they get really irritating really fast. I have no idea what the producers were thinking.

Living From Your Center is the first entry in Sounds True's new Inner Vision Series featuring best-selling author Iyanla Vanzant. This guided practice audio program serves as a tool for finding balance and inner strength in your life. The listener will learn: how love, faith, forgiveness, and surrender are steps to gaining spiritual power; how to identify your center and access it for strength in any situation; and Iyanla Vanzant's personal guided meditations.

I'm not your typical meditation type, but I believe in the value of it. What I love about Iyanla's approach to meditation is that it's about connecting with the sacred energy within us all, but nothing she says or does feels "out there" to me - I have no trouble connecting with these practices. I also find them incredibly helpful on a daily basis. I use the clearing practice before I work - I'm a writer - and then end the day with balance, healing and consecration. They've improved my state of mind, attitude and general well-being immensely. I highly recommend.

Jumping the Shark is the precise moment when things go terrible bad for a beloved something or someone. From music legends to sports heroes, from talk show hosts to politicians, Jump the Shark catalogs these priceless moments when the magic vanishes.

    Overall

Jumping the Shark is a great concept, and I give Hein credit for it, but the book lacks any real insight into what it means to jump the shark. Instead, there are a multitude of examples with inaccurate facts that don't amount to much more than a series of repetitive blurbs. Hein then follows this sloppy workmanship up by jumping himself - to celebrities, politics and sports, realms which don't really lend themselves to the concept. All that said, it's an entertaining listen, just not necessarily terribly well executed.

    "Great Book!"
    Overall

This was the first audiobook I ever listened to, and it got me hooked on both audiobooks and Mameve Medwed. I usually don't review, but I saw the other review and didn't want it to dissuade anyone from buying a great book and audiobook. One of the things I especially liked about this was the use of an actor to read the male parts; there's nothing more annoying than a female reader trying to deepen her voice to sound like a guy! The book itself is great, the story and sweet and lively, and Ms. Medwed is a great writer. It's definitely worth the listen!
