Lily Ivory hopes for a normal life when she opens Aunt Cora's Closet. With her magical knack for vintage fashion - she can sense vibrations of the past from clothing and jewelry - her store becomes a big hit. But when a client is murdered and children start disappearing from the Bay Area, Lily may be the only one who can unravel the crime.

I agree with past reviews that this story started out very slowly. A bit too much descriptive writing about the scenery and not enough about the characters, but it does pick up midway through the book. The narrator was very hard to get used to. She has a very wispy voice and every sentence just trails off..... Once the story started to pick up I was able to get past the voice, but I am not sure if I will go to the next book in the series if it is the same reader.

After waiting for this book to finally come out, I was so disappointed with the narrator. His grating voice did nothing for the characters. Talk about the opposite of sex-appeal. Ugh! Why couldn’t they just use the same narrator as all the other books? She does such a great job! It just really made it difficult to enjoy the wonderful writing.

Margot Cary has spent her life immersed in everything Lake Sackett is not. As an elite event planner, Margot's rubbed elbows with the cream of Chicago society and made elegance and glamour her business. She's riding high until one event goes tragically, spectacularly wrong. Now she's blackballed by the gala set and in dire need of a fresh start - and apparently the McCreadys are in need of an event planner with a tarnished reputation.

Molly Harper is one of my all time favorite authors, so it pains me to write this review. This book was not my favorite. There were so many characters to keep track of, and the two main characters had so little time together that it just seemed forced in the end. SPOILER ALERT: they don’t even get “together” until chapter 11. Out of 16 chapters. It took FOREVER. I wanted to skip ahead but I was afraid I might lose track of all the many characters involved in the story.

On the positive side, many of the characters are wonderful and the town is charming. Amanda Ronconi is magnificent as always.

I am not sure I will get the next book in the series, but mostly because it is only about 3 hours long and I don’t feel that is worth a full credit. I look forward to more books by Molly, as always. Her worst book is still better than many authors’ best books!

Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren't bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite, and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe.

I downloaded this book on author Molly Harper's recommendation. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The narrator is one of the best I have heard in a long time...right up there with Amanda Ronconi and Lorelei King.

The characters and plot are so original and fresh!

The only complaint I would say that I have is that Astrid has a LOT of inner dialogue going on, sometimes so much so that it gets a little repetitive. I find myself wanting her to get to the point of the scene. But that is a very small complaint. Overall, I love the characters, love the narrator and love this new series!

I can't wait to listen to the next one!

As always, the Mercy storyline was great. But I almost had to stop listening to it because the male narrator was awful! I tended to zone out when he was talking. Why why why didn't they just let Lorelei King narrate the whole story? It really ruined it for me. Please never do that again!!

I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of 10 thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.", and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing...except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

I agree with most of the reviews. The "romance: between Gigi and Nick had no build up whatsoever. Gigi was in love with Nick before she even knew anything about him, and vice versa. Gigi continued to make completely reckless decisions over and over. The whole thing just didn't make sense at all. I was a really disappointed. Molly Harper remains one of my all time favorite authors, but this one just missed the mark.

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow - but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She’s a paranormal private eye and grim-reaper-in-training who’s known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he’s dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes’ childhood happens to land into her lap, she can’t help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins.

I love this series! It's very well written and has a really unique plot. The only thing I wish the author would change is I wish Shelby would dump her husband! He is a total male chauvinist who treats his wife like she is a dim-wit. And the fact that she totally agrees with him all the time just to make him happy makes her a very weak character at times.

My favorite parts of the book are when Shelby and Ramos are together in scenes. There is so much chemistry there! Lose the husband and have a romance with Ramos!! PLEASE!

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator is one of my favorites and is perfect for young adult fiction. The story line was very unique. The only thing I would warn anyone about is that it is a dark and depressing type of story. If you are in a sad or depressed mood, I would suggest something a little more upbeat. Otherwise, it was a good read. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
