"Not Destined To Become a Classic"
I enjoyed the first book..."Sullivans Island.
But it is hard for me to believe the same author wrote Return To........
This was a really boring book and it was geared towards finding a man and living happily ever after.....
However...no one whoreads this book would equate it with any kind of happiness eve after.......
I will not read or listen to any more of this authors work.
"This book is so NOT like the Irish"
It is obvious tto me that this writer has never been to Ireland...she portrays the people in her book as a bunch of lazy alchoholic barflys that have only a 4 letter word as vocabulary.
One of the worst reads I've ever chosen...............Sorry
"Another winner!"
Brad Thor continues to keep me on the edge of my seat!.........The only suggestion I would have..get Scott Brick to read. I am use to Brick reading some of his novels, and he is far superior to this reader.
As listener....I was unable to discern between the male and female in this readers voice........
PS.....The troll is really an intersting character and I hope he continues to show up in future novels.
"Stretching It......."
I do believe in heaven.........but the stories related in this book were more coincidental than anything I found profound.......Maybe only one instance stated...........led me to think this might prove a point...all the rest mundane and uninteresting...........
"Long live the queen......"
It took me awile to get into this book and than I was completely hooked on the main character. Found this to be interesting......somewhat factual in the history of Queen Eleanor......Well written and narrated.
"Left me Frozen with Boredom"
Well.......I never stop listening to a book..no matter how bad. I figure it's my dime..my choice.
But this book I made an exception.
Trite...trite..trite. The hero who happens to be a killer, threatens to kill the protagonist from the beginning of the book...and he threatens...threatens...threatens..till I reached a point where, I wanted to kill her myself and get it over with....This book didn't provoke any emotion for me at all except boredom.....and about the reader. The reader was awful...read in a monotonous tone that droned and was devoid of any emotion....This is my first time reading Anne Stuart......I only made it through the first half of the book...but alas..No more Anne Stuart books for me.
"It gets better as you go along."
I really liked the storyline, but I almost lost my mind listening to the beginning and the OVER OVER....OVERLY syrupey English posh posh accents.
I think a different reader would have enhanced my experience,
"Destined to become a classic"
I can't remember a book that I became so mezmerized with......for a longtime. King has been dethroned! I used to listen to S. King until he started putting his political and moral idealisms in every story. Cronin is a wonderful writer ....I think someone should lock him in a room and tell him to type really ..really fast..
until the next sequel is finsihed..I CAN'T WAIT !!
"Detailed and well written"
Not the usual type of book I listen too. In this case, it was good to stray from my norm.
The characters were well developed. This book was an entertaining escape........I hope to listen to others by this author.
"Excellent Listen"
Well written, I enjoyed the characters and the plot. A little dissapointed in the ending. Predictable. Good narrator.
