From college classrooms to best selling books to the Internet, the historic picture of Jesus is under an intellectual onslaught. This fierce attack on the traditional portrait of Christ has confused spiritual seekers and created doubt among many Christians: but can these radical new claims and revisionist theories stand up to sober scrutiny

Can we even be sure that it was the Real Lee Strobel who authored such masterful and facinating prior efforts of this book series, "The Case for... ". Sorry, Mr. Strobel, but this one bombs, especially as an audio book, as it was overly long and frankly, very boring. Perhaps this series has run its course. Anyhow, this book most likely was my last exploration of books this type.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

    Overall

At first glance you're thinking a story based upon the buiding of Kingsbridge Catheral??? Absolutely, NO WAY!!! But, as you listen for a little while, you're wondering what you just heard has got to do with anything; and so you listen for little more. After a while you've found that you have completed all 5 parts; and it occurs to you that the novel you have just completed, was actually pretty darn good.
