Chilling, Captivating, Intoxicating
The book was loaded with memorable moments. The name of "Bekker" will always bring a shudder.
Ferrone is the perfect Davenport! He gives an articulate and stimulating read.
This was my first Sandford read. It scared me to death and I loved it! I am working my way through all his books now, but this remains vivid in my mind.
I would recommend to my granddaughter and her friends. As an adult I couldn't get through it.
I don't have much time to sit and read. I just put my phone in my pocket, connect my ear buds, and do my housework, my gardening or my crafts. My work goes by quickly and before I know it, I've completed a project. Occasionally I realize that I have stopped working and am just sitting and listening -- but that is usually during the really scarey parts.
Mr. Ferrone does Davenport perfectly. He also reads the killer exceptionally well.
This one will get you hooked on Davenport. That tall, rich, smart, womanizing stud who loves being a cop.
I figured out how it was done early on in the book. The clues just couldn't lead any other way. I figured out who the murderer was as well so the book wasn't as tense as his others.
I have become used to Dick Hill's voice and inflections. Jonathan's voice did not match the Reacher I have in my mind so he appeared to be a different person and I didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do.
Liam Nieson as Jack Reacher. He is a little thin, but at least he is tall and an excellent actor.
I totally enjoy all of Lee Child's books. This may not have been his best, but I enjoyed listening all the same.
