Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

This is a book that will make you laugh throughout -- I don't think it's an easy feat to be able to write like that, but Tina has managed. Those of you who follow her will find her to be just as entertaining in audible as she is on stage. She talks about her early life, life at SNL and 30 Rock -- her current life -- all sort of sprinkled in throughout the book. A true talent. ...in fact, I saw her last night hosting on SNL and she sings, too!

One of the best-known stories in American culture, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has stirred the imagination of young and old alike for over 100 years. Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married, Alice In Wonderland), fresh from filming one of this year’s most anticipated films, The Dark Knight Rises, lends her voice to this uniquely American fairy tale.

When I listened to a Sample, I knew that I would buy this audio version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz narrated by Anne Hathaway --- like many people, I've read the books, seen the movie and TV versions, plays - you name it, but this version is the coup de grâce in that the listener gets so much story detail that is forgotten from the days of reading as a child and never really absorbed in the movie version -- so I loved it for that reason. The narration by Ms. Hathaway was the best.

An old lady, an antiques dealer, dies in Basel, Switzerland. Her devoted daughter-in-law finally steels herself to do what all families must in the aftermath of a death - she heads upstairs to the attic to sort through the old lady's effects. But this wasn't just any old lady, and this wasn't just any old family house. Helene (Leni) Elias was born Helene Frank, only daughter of Alice Frank and sister of Otto Frank, who in turn was Anne Frank's father.1929 destroyed the Franks' banking business in Frankfurt; the rise of the Nazi party began to destroy their lives.

This is not close to Anne Franks Diary -- of which I've read several versions and love!. This is interesting enough, but not enough for me to finish -- which surprised me. I think I may go back to it -- I may have been reading too many books of this genre and had to move on. 9/27/11

I was very bored with this novel and stopped about half way -- i don't think I'm that easily disappointed in books. For this one, I had in mind something completely different. I decided to read it based on the highly rated reviews in Amazon. One reviewer commented that they thought these 5-star reviews were written by family....possibly so.

Goldie Hawn's life is an ongoing tableau of stories, and she has a born knack for telling them. In this candid and insightful book, Goldie invites us to join her in a look back at the people, places, and events that have touched her. It is the spiritual journey of a heart in search of enlightenment.

I really love Goldie Hawn; we grew up together on TV and movies, we are born the same year....although I finished the book, I was so surprised by the monotone of her narration and remember it being unmemorable. My expectations were perhaps too high, and I was disappointed Perhaps another narrator would have saved it.

This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.

I loved the whole idea of the storyline, but it just seemed to go on forever and at a slow pace -- I found myself not that excited about getting back to the book -- and that was my feeling to the end. I don't even think I finished it. I love time travel, but for some reason this one did not grab my attention. This was in 2005; perhaps I'll give it another try -- but I usually don't go back a second time.

My first book "read" on audible.com and I Loved it -- It was riveting; however, I have to say that the last two chapters disappointed me so much -- the author did the proverbial Rush job. I wasn't in a very forgiving mood and gave a 4 star but I have now come around to how I felt about 98% of the book -- it's a 5 star in that respect.

With each and every new novel, Dean Koontz raises the stakes, and the pulse rate, higher than any other author. Now, in what may be his most suspenseful and heartfelt novel ever, he brings us the story of an ordinary man whose extraordinary commitment to his wife will take him on a harrowing journey of adventure, sacrifice, and redemption to the mystery of love itself, and to a showdown with the darkness that would destroy it forever.

I was going through a period of reading a lot of contemporary fiction and memoirs but I kept coming across Dean Koontz and finally decided to read Husband, in December 2006, and loved it -- it was great to read a Thriller again. I then read Frankenstein: The Prodigal Son and that was quite a departure, but excellent after I got into it and I plan on reading the sequel ... some day.

Why has this classic been so popular over the years with its presence in films, books, radio, and television? It is the mythology of the primordial steps of man's advancement. David Ian Davies has achieved great success in capturing each character with their own unique sound.

I selected the Tarzan of the Apes audio Book 1 on an impulse because I had never read it and only vaguely recalled the basic story outline from a movie. As someone else mentioned, I might not have been able to get through to the end if I read it rather than listened to the excellent narrator, James Slattery. It turned out to be vividly wonderful throughout. Unbelievable to me was that I did not want to put the audio book down. Up until the very last minute of the story, I did not know how it would end and I realized that I probably never knew. Highly recommend for a fun-filled listening experience.
