Bill Crider's Dan Rhodes novels feature formidable mysteries and dark humor. In his 14th exploit, Rhodes discovers local octogenarian Helen Harris dead on her kitchen floor. It looks like an accident, but Rhodes knows there's more to this case.

Would you listen to Murder Among Owls again? Why?

Dan Rhodes is a sheriff after my own heart. His self deprecating humor combined with well defined and believable characters are only enhanced by George Guidall's usual superb portrayals. I enjoy these well written western novels especially when Guidall reads them to me! Cheers!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Murder Among Owls?

I loved the "Near chainsaw murder"

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His portrayal of characters is something I look forward to in every book he reads.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I just enjoyed the entire book.

Where does Death Song rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In my humble opinion, there is no better narrator than George Guidall and he's perfect to read the Kevin Kerney series! I may have inadvertently started with the 11th book of the series, but now I'm hooked and plan to "begin at the beginning." I'm anxious to read the prequel, Hard Country, to find out just where Kevin Kerney comes from. This series is definitely worth the read!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

There were so many treads and more than once I was truly caught off guard!

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I often pick a book simply because George Guidall is the reader.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Movies almost never compliment a book so I'd avoid making a movie of these books. I would not want to ruin an excellent set of stories.
