"Loved it!"
Read the story before but this was so much better! Eric Roberts does a fantastic narration.
"The movie was so much better"
The narration was very, very good, but that's about all that was good about this audiobook. I don't even see how the screenplay for the movie was written based on the story. Where the movie is magical and uplifting, this story is depressing and creates a feeling of unease. I wish I hadn't listened to it at all,
"Stick to your day job."
First, Mr. King should not narrate. Stick to writing where you generally shine, BUT,this time not so much. I had already read "1408" and knew that to be a good story but the other 2 "pad" strories seem like they were just thrown together and tossed in to create this alleged collection. Pile of time suck is what it should be called. I had a difficult time listening to it. If you want a good SK collection on Audio, try Full Dark No Stars. Great stories and narration.
"Just what I suspected"
Barack Obama is a sociopath. I always thought that there was something about him that was a little off but could never really put a name to it. Now that I know some of the storys
of how he won the Presidency, it makes sense. This answers the question of "how does a little known, first term Senator from Illinois win a Presidential election?" He has no conscience, that's how. I feel terrible for the people he has duped and even worse for the ones that haven't seen the light.
"A way for your dogs needs to be met, not yours."
Yes, The rules of being alpha are really pretty basic, but there are so many nuances to how a dog communicates, a little refesher is needed.
No.
So much good information on dog psychology. My only complaint has nothing to do with dogs at all. He seems to think that there is some justification in illegally entering the USA. Even though he has paid the fines and dealt with the legalities of being here (unlike most illegals no doubt), he sounds like he is still defending it. Since when does being poor make breaking the law justified? It doesn't.
"Good read"
Took me a while to get into this but it was well worth the effort. Offers very good examples of how to recognize a real risk, and how to not agonize over the ones that we create in our heads. Especially good for women and teenage girls. I wish I had known all of this 20 yrs ago.
"Same old same old"
This is yet another system of positive reinforcement, sticker systems, point systems, and nothing you haven't read before if you have ever read a parenting book. In fact, after reading numerous books on dog training, this method is quite similar...minus the stickers.
"Maybe a good read, but a dismal listen"
Shame on me for not taking the time to read a hard copy of this book. I don't know if it was trying to listen to such a lengthy read via audio or that the narrator just killed it. His normal narration voice is okay but his renditions of the numerous characters voices were just atrocious. I can understand why trying to perform a childs or a womans voice might be difficult for a man, but even the men sound ridiculous. I am a long time SK fan but I could not even finish this. If you have the time and want the story, buy the hardcopy.
"Too many sports references"
The information is very interesting however every time the author went into another Tom Brady football analogy, I would just groan. Just unbearable to have to suffer through the intracracies of a sport I find boring, and too many times. Once would have been sufficient.
"Very Relevant!"
I loved this. It is concise and a very modern look at parenting in the US. After listening to this I truely had a better and different understanding of my role and responsiblities as a mother of 3. There are some points concerning the father/daughter mother/son relationships that I disagree with. Other than that, a very good investment for your time and money.
