"Doc"
I was very impressed with the story and the narration. Something for almost anyone in this book, western history, American history, romance, philosophy and a lot of truth. I was particularly taken by the writers knowledge on the truth about the civil war (although the book only just touches on the civil war) - she has obviously not fallen for the politically correct data on the subject.
"A Darker Place"
Excellent reader. So so story. Didn't grab me. I will not listen to it again.
Any Vince Flynn book is far better.
"The Eagle has Landed"
This is Jack Higgins first book and in my opinion his best. I consider it a classic in that I will want to listen to it again and again. Written not too long after WW II it tells an interesting story that could have been. It will appeal to not only WWII fans but to anyone who likes a good story with suspense, a little humor, history and even common philosophy.
The narrator was great for this book and really adds to its listening pleasure.
Readers will want more of Jack Higgins books but beware none are as good as this one. They range from good all the way down to real pot boilers. Read all reviews carefully.
"Open and Shut"
I really enjoyed this book and I found I couldn't stop listening even after I had finished my drive. The story was great as was the humor. Grover does an excellent job of narration.
I'm onto his second in the series now.
"As the Crow Flies"
Another great book in a great series. George Guidall is of course the icing on the cake as a perfect narrator for this book.
"Faithful Spy"
I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was a perfect match for the book although I'm not familiar with him otherwise. If you are a Vince Flynn fan then you almost certainly really like this book.
"Space Boy"
A very nice short family Sci Fi story. Narration was excellent. I will be buying more of Orson Scott Card's books.
"House of Silk"
I found this too long and drawn out. The reader was excellent and it does have the SH ambience throughout. If you just can't get enough SH and have already gone through all his Conan Doyle books then this book is for you.
In my opinion the best reader of the Conan Doyle SH books is David Timson. They are also very well dramatized by the BBC. I believe these are all available from audible.
"Executive Power by Vince Flynn"
Another superb story from Vince Flynn with a perfect reader. I find it amazing how the book grabbed my attention from start to finish and was a sheer pleasure to listen to.
I notice a person from FL gave it only three stars but I see they never give more than three stars to any book - must be the Sun getting to them.
"Act Of Treason by Vince Flynn"
Another wonderful book by Vince Flynn. Very enjoyable - a book I found myself sitting in the car in the driveway to complete a section. The Narrator again was superb. This writer is just so good consistently he amazes me - onto his next book.
"Agent Zigzag"
Certainly stranger and better than fiction. Great story and very well narrated by John Lee.
I'm really into WWII but my wife isn't - however she enjoyed it just as much as I did.
People not into WWII or spy may want to pass on this.
