Marian Caldwell is a 36-year-old television producer, living her dream in New York City. With a fulfilling career and satisfying relationship, she has convinced everyone, including herself, that her life is just as she wants it to be. But one night, Marian answers a knock on the door ... only to find Kirby Rose, an 18-year-old girl with a key to a past that Marian thought she had sealed off forever. From the moment Kirby appears on her doorstep, Marian’s perfectly constructed world - and her very identity - will be shaken to its core.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The title was catchy, but the whole story did not make any sense. If she said "surreal" one more time, I was going to turn it off! Really!

Has Where We Belong turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was fair. Kirby's and Marion's voices got on my nerves after a while. All of the men sounded the same to me.

Was Where We Belong worth the listening time?

    No at all.

    Any additional comments?

This is the worst book I have ever listened to, and I have listened to many, many good ones from Audible.

Troy Phelan is a self-made billionaire, one of the richest men in the United States. He is also eccentric, reclusive, confined to a wheelchair, and looking for a way to die. His potential heirs, to no one's surprise - especially Troy's - are circling like vultures. But Troy shocks them all when he leaves his fortune to an estranged, illegitimate daughter.

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer, so I could relate to one of the characters. Although about greed, I did not want it to end. A very good "read".

A young woman sits in jail, accused of the mercy killing of her dying mother. She didn't do it, but she thinks she knows who did. In the last months of her life, Ellen Gulden's mother revealed startling secrets that challenged everything Ellen believed about her family. Now, in jail, Ellen believes those secrets will tell her who had the courage to end her mother's suffering.

I listened to this after loosing my mother in December of 2009, at the age of 92. Although she did not die of cancer, I had to fight with her doctor to let her "die in peace". Her doctor wanted to "send her to the hospital" to do everything for her. Death with dignity has many levels. This is a subject that needs to be addressed.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

I hated for this to end. The content and the narrators were excellent. I looked into this via Audible as a friend was reading it and loved it. One of my favorites. Would listen to it again.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

    Overall

I downloaded this book chiefly due to the "5 star" rating from the previous reviews. The story sounded interesting and the lenth, due to the fact that I am in the car a lot, was not undaunting. I am now on the third book and can not stand it any longer. The historical content is sparse and the plot is almost nonexsistent. If the average person had as much sex as the main characters do, they would end up being ministered in hospital by the main character! What a waste of time, although the narrator is just great.
