The book was short, sweet, and christian based. Predictable. The narrator did an excellent job of making the characters and setting easy to imagine. I didn't hate it. Didn't love it. Good for a short trip. Maybe a bit convicting spiritually.
Action. Thought-provoking. Educational.
It did keep me on the edge of my seat waiting for what came next.
It took some time to get used to Mr. Hill's narration. He has an interesting cadence to his speech. There were some phrases & cliches that were over used. Some explanations of particular thoughts, actions, were over-told. I got it after the first explanation, definitely got it after the second, annoyed by the third. Will continue the series a bit more after recommendations from my friend and another person who loves, loves, loves the books.
Ms. Gabaldon holds your attention for 23 hrs. You don't want to stop listening. The historical facts can either bore you or keep you in the momemnt. I can't wait to start the 3rd in the series. Worth the time.
