Ben Dafoe, emergency-room doctor and part-time crime-scene consultant, is haunted by addiction. Two years before, a cocaine habit claimed the life of his identical twin, Aaron. Now Ben walks onto the scene of a savage stabbing to learn that the victim, Emily Kenmore, is his former fiancée, another loved one who fell prey to addiction. One the wall in Emily's bedroom is a streak of blood that belongs to the killer. When the DNA from that sample matches Ben's blood, he becomes the prime suspect.

BK, I completely disagree; Anthony Heald is one of my favorite narrators, ever since the first book I listened to that he did ("Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil.")

Besides that, the story is very interesting ... one of those that I kept thinking I had figured out, right up until it turned out I didn't ... over and over again. I thought the plot was interesting, and the characters engaging.

Overall, very enjoyable; I will listen to it again sometime, I'm sure.

Dolores Claiborne's elderly employer dies suddenly, apparently from falling down a flight of stairs. This tragedy sparks memories of the day Dolores' husband died...the day of the total eclipse. Suspected by police and townspeople alike, she delivers a story of a disintegrating marriage, and the breaking point reached by a docile woman.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is engaging ... I didn't want it to end. And, the narrator is superb; she had me completely believing that she was Dolores Claiborne. As others have said, it's not a typical King "horror" book, but it IS a fascinating story. I highly recommend it.
