No one knows why Lara Mallory opens up her medical practice in the rowdy Texas town where Tackett Oil owns everything. But everyone remembers her role in the well-publicized scandal that caused the downfall of White House hopeful Senator Clark Tackett. Now the ironfisted matriarch of Tackett Oil intends to use her money and power to drive Lara out of town...especially when Lara meets Key, the hell-raising, youngest Tackett son.

I've listend to a few Sandra Brown books and this one was the best. I even listened to it again straight after I enjoyed it that much. The twists and turns were brilliant. Thank you for a great read/listen...makes my nights at work go much quicker...thanks

A divorced woman, Roberta Jewett, returns to Camden, Maine, with her 3 daughters, to start a new life on her own. It's the summer of 1916 and Roberta faces the obstacles of rumors and innuendo, not to mention the lack of support from her mother and sister. In her efforts to rebuild both her life and a ramshackle house on the harbor, Roberta endures violence, betrayal, and her share of pain. But she also finds love, friendship, and acceptance from a most unlikely source.

I have read this book once before and really wanted to read it again but with lack of time thought I'd try an Audio book. Still a great story but the Audio has missed out so much of the book. If you haven't read the book and then listen to the Audio you would know but after reading the book and then listening it's a little frustrating knowing that a lot is missing. However, it's a great book.
