This book slowly reels you in, until you dread reaching the end, and having to give it up! The narrator does a great job of using different voice intonations to distinguish the great number of characters with unfamiliar Russian names. I originally approached the book as a "should read", having missed many of the classics by minoring in French in college - but as I now approach the last 3 hours of listening, I am captivated, and looking forward to reading more Tolstoy. An incredible listen, and a great teaching tool for this era of Russian history, and class distinctions at the time.
