I know i have a different review on a newer war of the worlds but this is the original. Orson welles is a brilliant man who knows how to put together a masterpeice
I listen to it at least once a week lying in bed just before i go to sleep and it never gets old. Based off a book, Orson Wells made a great science fiction novel become reality for the nation. something that as far as i know has yet to produce as much a nation wide reaction.
i highly recomend that everyone should listen to this peice of american classic entertainment, and remember the good ol day before "video killed the radio star" (buggles)
Rick Riordan is finishing another great series with our Greek hero and his friends.
we know someone is going to die, do you know who? No one can die, Everyone is important, Yet someone will. but there is hope. can they get what they need before its to late? Also Nico has his own mission now with helping return the Statue of Athena. Will everyone succeed or will they all fail? (lets be honest what book does the hero's fail)
Also there is a mysterious hint to another book he is writing, I had to have my sister clarify it but there is another set of hero's with God powers that will be in this world. I wonder what Riordan is working towards with all these different godlings (demi god, magicians channeling the gods, godly decendants) running around who will they fight?
This book I listened to in only a few short days and it was worth it.
This follow up to me failed to live up to my expectations. Adam Mansbach wrote a beautiful story with Go The F*ck to sleep that shows the parents struggle with putting children to sleep. This novel is about feeding kids and I feel like he had to much pressure put on his shoulders to write a sequel.
Bryan Cranston did a fantastic job reading this novel and it was very entertaining. I much prefer Samuel L Jackson to have done this again but we cant always win.
The King is sick, the Last Duke is about to make his move. But the Princess has a trick up her sleeve too. she was used as a pawn by the Last Duke but pawns can fight back too. Winter, Marcus and Janus come back in time to help but they don't know what the princess is doing.
Marcus is in charge of a group of men that have a spy inside it. Winter is on a special mission where she must give up her disguise and be a girl.
As I continue to read this I cant help but get a feeling that there is a something hidden in the story. What is happening with the Thousand Names what is Janus doing? So much mystery to find out.
This is a interesting book. Django Wexler has merged the world of magic with the weaponry of colonial age of the Americas. And though there is magic in this novel, not everyone can use it, and everyone that has magic is different.
The clashes are well described in detail but not to much. Musket wars are a tough battle to describe and he has done his research to make sure that they are as realistic sounding as possible.
The story has two points of view Winter and Marcus they are amazing. There is not only the Redeemer army to worry about but also people in their own army as well. new recruits with no training, and old recruits who just ran away must work together to get better.
I have a tell me to get these book saying I would love them. I bought them a while back but always had a book I wanted to listen to first. Finally I got to this book and started it on Tuesday. Saturday I finished it as soon as I finished doing my home work. Every free minute I had I was listening to this book.
Most books I have read Necromancy is a evil magic, raising the dead and controlling them and making them follow your will. Here Sabriel is trained in the art of Necromancy to put the dead to rest. A interesting twist with the fight to stop the dead.
Tim Curry is the narrator here and he happens to be one of my favorite actors. From Home Alone 2 to Annie. He makes it so this story comes to life. adding to the magic of the world.
I love and recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy.
Jason now knows where Percy must be. We join Percy in making his way down to the Roman camp. ITS HUGE full of families and they still dress roman. The Romans have traditions and though most are similar they are very different. Percy makes new friends and there is a face he knows but he is not sure how. its driving him nuts.
Amnesia, the son of Jupiter no wait Zeus. Wait this is very confusing and where is Percy. To many questions to few answers. whats with the gold coin/magic sword spear thing.
The earth is waking, giants are coming back, and so are the dead. Heroes had it hard before. well that was easy compared to now good thing they had a warm up game and new demigods to help.
Days left till the final battle. Demigods prepare to fight the impossible war that is coming and the Gods are busy fighting another threat. How do you win a war with the Titans when the Gods are not there.
a exciting end to the series. with twists no one would expect. Just a few more hours till you get to the end make sure you have time to listen to this because its going to be painful if you have to stop lots while you listen.
One more challenge. Why cant summer camp just be normal. Oh yeah Percy Jackson is a demigod one of the few at camp half blood. and when the evil Titan king is raising and he hates you and your camp. well you got to fight for survival. Defenses are up but there is one disadvantage. A secret door into the camp will let monsters in past the tree.
In this book Jesse Bernstein makes a change up. He goes from pronouncing Hera the American way to pronouncing it the Greek way. this is a big confusing moment to listeners but after a while you get use to it
What happens when a recruitment mission goes bad, and that your best human friend gets kidnapped. Percy would chase after her and try to get her free. when everyone else goes on the quest Percy has to stay. and when he tries to run way Mr. D catches him. what will Percy do?
