Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden has had a rough couple of weeks. As the only openly practicing professional wizard in the Chicago area, he has squared off against a multitude of supernatural bad guys. Harry has won the day against demons, poltergeists, sorcerers, trolls, vampires, werewolves, and even an evil faerie godmother. You might think nothing could spook him. You would be wrong.

By now I noticed that by now the title of the book gives a hint towards the monster of the book.

Harry and a new good guy a Knight of the Christian church have been fighting monsters that have been driven mad by some kind of evil barb wire. Who is stirring up trouble with the ghosts in the Never Never? While they are trying to figure this out Dresden is also invited by the Red Court for Bianca's rise to vampire nobility.

Susan, Murphy, and Dresden are back with new friends and old foes. Will harry be able to help save the day again or will everything be destroyed again.

This series I am plowing though faster and faster. Each book is slightly longer in time but I see how much is left in the book I am surprised how fast I am near the end of my book. sure the books are shorter then most that I listen to but I have gone though almost 3 books in a week. So I will let you decide.

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

The first thing I love about this Jim Butcher book is that the next disaster does not show up a week later but time has passed. The events from before still are in effect. Murphy still is mad but we learn her perspective. Butcher has a great way doing his research into the world of magic and its monsters.

A murder has happened and its a attack by a magical animal, werewolves are now in Chicago and it looks like they may be going after the crime boss. When Harry Dresden asks his friend Bob he learns there are 4 different types. and only one is against the magical law. Dresden is being manipulated and guided from one group to another. All to find the cursed man.

well written and well thought out this book is a great mix of Magic and being a Private Eye. best for the fan of either world

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen - all of them - and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood - the blood of Olympus - in order to wake.

Rick Riordan is finishing another great series with our Greek hero and his friends.

we know someone is going to die, do you know who? No one can die, Everyone is important, Yet someone will. but there is hope. can they get what they need before its to late? Also Nico has his own mission now with helping return the Statue of Athena. Will everyone succeed or will they all fail? (lets be honest what book does the hero's fail)

Also there is a mysterious hint to another book he is writing, I had to have my sister clarify it but there is another set of hero's with God powers that will be in this world. I wonder what Riordan is working towards with all these different godlings (demi god, magicians channeling the gods, godly decendants) running around who will they fight?

This book I listened to in only a few short days and it was worth it.

Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcom in the Middle) follows in the exasperated footsteps of Samuel L. Jackson, giving voice to the long-suffering father whose indifferent child will just not eat in this hilarious follow-up to Adam Mansbach's international best seller, Go the F--k to Sleep.

This follow up to me failed to live up to my expectations. Adam Mansbach wrote a beautiful story with Go The F*ck to sleep that shows the parents struggle with putting children to sleep. This novel is about feeding kids and I feel like he had to much pressure put on his shoulders to write a sequel.

Bryan Cranston did a fantastic job reading this novel and it was very entertaining. I much prefer Samuel L Jackson to have done this again but we cant always win.

Anyone can plot a coup or fire an assassin's bullet. But in a world of muskets and magic, it takes considerably more to seize the throne. The ailing King of the Vordan lies on his deathbed. When he dies, his daughter, Raesinia Orboan, will become the first Queen Regnant in centuries - and a ripe target for the ambitious men who seek to control her. The most dangerous of these is Duke Orlanko, Minister of Information and master of the secret police.

The King is sick, the Last Duke is about to make his move. But the Princess has a trick up her sleeve too. she was used as a pawn by the Last Duke but pawns can fight back too. Winter, Marcus and Janus come back in time to help but they don't know what the princess is doing.

Marcus is in charge of a group of men that have a spy inside it. Winter is on a special mission where she must give up her disguise and be a girl.

As I continue to read this I cant help but get a feeling that there is a something hidden in the story. What is happening with the Thousand Names what is Janus doing? So much mystery to find out.

With this stunning series opener, Django Wexler leaps to the upper echelon of today’s best fantasy authors. The Thousand Names opens his Shadow Campaigns series with a tale of bloody rebellion that will reshape an empire -- and a world. Captain Marcus d’Ivoire and Winter Ihernglass see their fortunes rise under the command of military genius Janus bet Vhalnich. But Janus’ obsession with the supernatural portends a dire fate for the realm.

This is a interesting book. Django Wexler has merged the world of magic with the weaponry of colonial age of the Americas. And though there is magic in this novel, not everyone can use it, and everyone that has magic is different.

The clashes are well described in detail but not to much. Musket wars are a tough battle to describe and he has done his research to make sure that they are as realistic sounding as possible.

The story has two points of view Winter and Marcus they are amazing. There is not only the Redeemer army to worry about but also people in their own army as well. new recruits with no training, and old recruits who just ran away must work together to get better.

I have a tell me to get these book saying I would love them. I bought them a while back but always had a book I wanted to listen to first. Finally I got to this book and started it on Tuesday. Saturday I finished it as soon as I finished doing my home work. Every free minute I had I was listening to this book.

Most books I have read Necromancy is a evil magic, raising the dead and controlling them and making them follow your will. Here Sabriel is trained in the art of Necromancy to put the dead to rest. A interesting twist with the fight to stop the dead.

Tim Curry is the narrator here and he happens to be one of my favorite actors. From Home Alone 2 to Annie. He makes it so this story comes to life. adding to the magic of the world.

I love and recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy.

a exciting end to the series. with twists no one would expect. Just a few more hours till you get to the end make sure you have time to listen to this because its going to be painful if you have to stop lots while you listen.
