"I am Princess Meredith, heir to a throne of fairie. My day job, once upon a time, was as a private detective in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, princess has now become a full-time occupation. My aunt, Queen Andais, will have it no other way. And so I am virtually a prisoner in fairie - trapped here with some of the realm's most beautiful men to serve as my bodyguards...and my lovers."

Another great story. I really love the way these characters are developing slowly as the series progresses. Everyone, especially Frost and Gaylan are getting much better at their initial weaknesses. The sex is much too drawn out and tends to stall the story from moving forward. That's ok though. I can get past the disk-long orgies because the story line is otherwise great. The characters are really good too. I would love it if the narrator would stick with pronouncing the characters names in a consistent way. Doyle was "Doyle" in books one and two, "Dole" in books three, back to "Doyle" in book four, and now back to Dole. I realize the pronunciation guide says that his name is pronounced "Dole", but stick with the same darned name! It's distracting, and quite frankly disrespectful to the author. Not to mention poor Darkness! I wish he'd pop out of the story with Mortal Dread and give the narrator a little slice... :)

"I am Meredith, princess of faerie, wielder of the hands of Flesh and Blood, and at long last, I am with child twins, fathered by my royal guard. Though my uncle, Taranis, King of Light and Illusion, claims that he is the true father since he abducted me from my home, betrayed, and defiled me. And now he has branded my guards as a threat to my unborn children."

I loved this book. In fact, I'm going to have to buy it and "read" it. The narrator is not terrible. In fact, she is quite good. With that said, I have to say that after listening to the other books, it's distracting to have this type of narration. There's a lot of dialogue in this book. It's hard to figure out the difference between Doyle, Reece, Gaylan, or even Andeais... They all sound the same. I can't wait for the next book, though.
