"Interesting opinions..."
Yes. I have read Something Borrowed, Love the One You're With, and Heart of the Matter. Emily Giffin writes about horrible people, but she makes you like them!
I thought the narration was average. I did not listen to Cynthia Nixon read this, but I did listen to her read Heart of the Matter. I do think she could have added more of a "snarky" tone/attitude to the characters.
I got exactly what I expected with this book. It was time for an easy listen; so, I went searching for a fluff book.
"Ana is YOUNG and INEXPERIENCED!!!"
The first narration did sound young, but Ana is young. I really do not understand all the complaining about the narration. I listened to three hours before the change and the remainder of the book after the remastering. I have listened to much worse.
The talk shows are calling this "mommy porn". I find the label amusing but fitting to the book. This book made me blush more than once, and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next. The All American Rejects song "Dirty Little Secret" comes to mind. Fifty Shades of Grey is a nice bit of erotica.
"Not gripping at all...."
I felt like she was trying to make her voice sound sexy. In doing this, she made herself difficult to understand and a bit monotone.
It was a somewhat interesting mystery, but I didn't think so until I finished the book.
My mind wandered constantly during this book.
