Arthur Penhaligon is not supposed to be a hero. He is, in fact, supposed to die an early death. But then his life is saved by a key shaped like the minute hand of a clock.

I found this to be an extremely imaginative story that is fast paced and thoroughly enjoyable. The characters are well thought out and the voice actor did a tremendous job making them all distinctly different. I would whole heartedly recommend this book to fans of fantasy.

Magic Lands: Journey Beyond the Beyond is a refreshingly unique fantastic adventure that is suitable for readers of all ages while containing all the icky-gooey-creepy details that are sure to delight! Following the village elder's advice, Ray leaves his home village, setting out for the place lost and deep where he will find a companion for his journey to the stone land and where he will discover that there is no easy path from childhood to manhood.

The story moves right along quite nicely, but feels somewhat abrupt in the beginning. The voice actor has a clear voice though somewhat monotone to my ears making emotions hard to read. Pauses too brief for my liking also made it difficult for me to follow along at times. To be fair I have been diagnosed with A.D.D. and others may not find it to be so.

In short it's a nice story, but if you are like me you may have to pay extra close attention to follow it well and become immersed.
