    Overall

The authors are narrating and their voices are so monotone and boring that I couldn't listen. Maybe the printed book would be better for this one.

    "Excellent!!!"
    Overall

To the poster who said she was just promoting her weekend retreat - you did not listen to the book. If you had, you would have heard her (on NUMEROUS occasions) state that a whole weekend is not necessary to retreat.

The stories in this book were a great help to me in coming up with ideas for my own retreats. There is a lot of wonderful, real world, advice in here. Not just fluff and the usual "self help" stuff. I highly recommend this book.

Jodi Picoult delivers the riveting tale of one small town's entanglement with high-school violence.

New York Superior Court Judge Alex Cormier is assigned to preside over the case of the alleged Sterling High School shooter. Lawyer Jordan McAffee represents Peter, the boy who, on the day of the shooting, was found in the corner of the gymnasium holding a gun to his head with a shaky hand. Detective Patrick DuCharme has one star witness, but her story keeps changing. And then there's the biggest problem of all: the star witness happens to be Judge Cormier's daughter.

"Good book but needs different narrator"
    Overall

This is a good book if you can get past the narrator going to a ridiculous husky whisper every time she talks in a male voice.

  • Welcome to Your Crisis: How to Use the Power of Crisis to Create the Life You Want

    Story

The moment your life falls apart is also the moment your new life begins, says Laura Day. It is the moment when illusion and deception fall away and naked truth emerges. Crisis can be extraordinarily painful. But, when approached head-on, it can also be a source of power, hope, and vision, and the start of the life you really want.

    D. Arena says: "I may have to listen to this again....."
    "Wake Up"
    Overall

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. This one kept putting me to sleep. I've tried to listen sitting up at my desk with pen in hand ready to take notes and I fell asleep. Maybe Laura Day is a hypnotist? Or should be.

Pass on this one, at least in audio format. Maybe the printed book is better?

In his trademark "tell-it-like-it-is" style, Dr. Phil McGraw presents an enlightening and entertaining workshop on how to "get real" in relationships and in life. He explains how to live by design, as opposed to living reactively, and urges you to "step out of the comfort zone" by evaluating everything in your life based on whether it's working or not.

Jeannie says: "Dr. Phill Getting Real"
"A Must Listen to For All"
    Overall

I love Dr. Phil. This is classic Dr. Phil style. Others say the sound quality was bad, however, I did not find that at all. Some of the time you hear the audience reacting over what he is trying to say, but, being the professional that he is, he waits for the audience to die down before continuing to speak. No problem. Great info and great delivery.
