Sue Monk Kidd's ravishing debut novel has stolen the hearts of reviewers and readers alike with its strong, assured voice. Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed.

A very good story and read very well. Another reading that made the book come thru in 3D. Left you thinking there must be more to the story. Maybe?

Told through the eyes of current and former Navy SEALs, Eyes on Target is an inside account of some of the most harrowing missions in American history-including the mission to kill Osama bin Laden and the mission that wasn't, the deadly attack on the US diplomatic outpost in Benghazi where a retired SEAL sniper with a small team held off one hundred terrorists while his repeated radio calls for help went unheeded.

    Any additional comments?

Almost quit on this book as it started out different than I thought. The final part regarding the options to react on Ben Ghazi should be mandatory reading for every American prior to voting on any future election!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

Anastasia Burke says: "Hillenbrand could make even laundry fascinating!"
    "Should read this"

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Well Wrritten"

This book was written extremely well and the reading hit the same standard. A longer book than some but it was over way to quickly. The type of book that Audible can be very proud of!

Found the reading voice and the material read to be a bit to hard to understand clearly. Reading (or hearing) should be relaxing and this one makes you work to hard to keep up.

The pace of the book and the monotone reading led both my wife and myself to "fall asleep" on this one. We gave up about 1/3 thru. Cannot recommend.
