This is a phenomenal exposition of the book of Romans by Pastor John Piper. It is a series of sermons each about 35-45 minutes long through Paul's letter to the Romans starting with Chapter 1 verse 1 and proceeding to the end of the book. The original time taken to record this was several years (somewhere between 4 and 8), and Piper jokes about it throughout.
Piper has an amazing gift to be able to provide a thorough understanding of the text and really help understand the intent of Paul's greatest letter. Piper's teachings are both academic and pragmatic. He does not over spiritualize the topics and often provides very thoughtful illustrations and analogies to help the listener better understand complex topics.
From a technical perspective, the audio quality is great and it is a joy to listen to. The download is split into 18 parts with each sermon coming as a single chapter. This is a long series; but, it is very easy to go back and forth between them if you'd like to listen again, which you likely will.
I highly recommend this title to all those interested in a deeper understanding of the Christian faith and how it relates to its origins in Judaism, our response to Jesus as the Christ, what it means to live a holy life, and how to walk in the Spirit of God. It continues to be an extremely helpful resource in my spiritual development and is a joy to listen to during my commute or in my private study time. My understanding of the Gospel is still deepening as a result of this selection.
Bottom line: This is a true 5-star selection. At only 1 credit, this is a steal. Download it today to deepen your understanding and faith.
