This is an exceptionally engaging story that is set in the most unusual place - a dictionary publishing house. There is lots to be learned by listening to this book! The two lead characters, Billy and Mona, have a very unusual chemistry that, along with the setting make this a very good listen if you are patient. The narration was very good too. The plot unfolds slowly, but the development of the mystery is very clever!
The story and setting are both great. The characters are compelling and interesting. Truly a great listen.
The performance was outstanding. The characters are brought to life in the narration. Listening rather than reading this book makes it special.
Too long for that, but it was awfully hard to turn off.
For those familiar with Wyoming, or those that love the outdoors, this is a must listen. The characters and the setting make this a great choice.
This is the beginning book in an impressive series about the life and times of a modern-day game warden. The story involves all the trappings of governmental bureaucracy, low pay for hard work, family dedication, and a good solid mystery. Joe Pickett is humble, honest, and a good thinker. If you like the rugged outdoors, you will enjoy this mystery.
I almost never listen to a book more than once, but that is because there are only 24 hours in a day and so many books. I would listen to this one again in a few years.
The plot was a bit of a stretch, but it was seldom dull.
I found the performance to be very good.
With all the twists, there wasn't a particular point that moved me.
If you love the outdoors, like to hunt, fish, hike, or just enjoy the challenges of nature, you will enjoy this book if you like mysteries.
Andy Carpenter. He was witty and engaging during the entire ordeal.
No extreme reactions, just a constant interest in the next plot twist.
Very good listen!
