You will think you are listening to a play with multiple actors.

If you enjoy totally unbelievable plots and unrealistic over-the top murder and mayhem, then this book is for you. Very disappointed.

Sounds like Grisham is doing a reading at a bookstore. Wish I had my credit back.

I couldn't go past the first hour or two. Never grabbed my interest. I've read all his books and enjoyed most. This was a total waste of time and money.

Why authors occasionally insist on narrating their own books remains a mystery to me. McClellan sounds as boyish here as he did in the White House. It is a painful distraction to hear him read. I may not be able to finish what is clearly an important revelation about a morally dishonest and corrupt administration.

I looked forward to listening every day, HOWEVER, it was very long. The history was enlightening, HOWEVER, the story was more like a modern day soap opera. I've enjoyed all of Ken Follett's books, HOWEVER, this one is a little sub-par.

By the time I listened to the first half of this book, I didn't care what happened to anybody in it. I went on to something else. It was really a waste of time.

I've read every Dave Robicheaux novel. They're all entertaining and complex, but this is probably the most artistically crafted of the lot.
Will Patton makes you believe you are listening to an ensemble cast. If ever an author and narrator were made for each other it's Burke and Patton.

It is hard to believe that there is only one narrator in this production. This is more like listening to a play with several actors than just a book being read. It is truly one of the best experiences I've had in audiobooks, and it was not only because of the great prose of Maugham, but also the amazing work of Charlton Griffin.
