"Someone fetch Isaacson a thesaurus"
Drinking game... take a shot each time you hear "Jobs was furious."
This book doesn't seem to be written for people who actually followed Apple and Steve Jobs. Some of the content is flat wrong.
The reader is incredibly annoying and whiney. He sometimes made me 'furious'... :)
"Blah"
This is convoluted, pointless crap. The characters and their relationships are quite frankly boring and annoying. The murder plot is uninteresting, as so much of the book focuses on this dumb animosity between the two brother detectives. Worst of all, the narrator's voice for the main character "Mo" is just plain awful -- it sounds like a mix between someone constipated and crying.
"Intensely Boring"
The first hour of the book is good and promising. The rest of it drones on and on and on and ........ I'm shocked that people describe the book as suspenseful. It is the antithesis of suspenseful. It tries to be poetic, but the prose lands flat. I had been interested in seeing the movie, but not now. And yes -- the narration is horrible.
"Worst of the series"
I've enjoyed all of the Reacher books I've read so far, but this one has too many holes. The biggest hole of all (minor spoiler) is this hostile relationship with the FBI.
Are we supposed to forget the 2nd book in the series (Die Trying), where he's a gigantic hero of the FBI? Since the story refers to previous Reacher novels, I assume we're to take the series as an ongoing story. If that's the case, the FBI's animosity towards him is a ridiculous premise. With this premise blown, the story makes absolutely no sense.
"Narrator is the worst ever"
The book content is good. But, the narrator completely ruins it. His voice is extremely annoying -- starts sentences loudly and ends sentences in a barely audible mumble.
