"Fascinating, Spellbinding"
Historical bounty intriguing
I could NOT STOP LISTENING. I stayed up til the wee hours of the morning as I had to have this resolved then zap....it leaves you during a high point in the story. The rest of the story please? How long until the next book comes out.? I cannot wait to see how this story ends.
Beecher. He just grabs his passion and inner dialogue so well. I feel that I almost know him personally.
I LOVE the little known historical facts such as President Lincoln sneeking into St Johns Church to pray and attend services and leaving before service ended. I also did not know that Lincoln was a member at Foundry Methodist church nor did I know of Foundry's history. Love their sharing of little known facts about George Washington and the playing cards. Facinating.
I was shocked at the books ending..."WHAT?" You cannot end it here.....how long do I have to wait for the rest of the story? Oh dear! I want to know the rest of the story! I also plan on visitng the sites in the book the next time I visit DC. St Johns Church and Cafe Milano here I come. I've visited the other places. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. I LOVE this series.
"Don't Bother"
The story was so depressing. Felt I had wasted not only time buy money on this book. I cannot imagine why it is one of Colin's favorites.
Needed a total rewrite....two old men....living at the end in the same house comforting one another for a space over the love of the same women that they both loved and lost. I hated that they killed her off....and she ends of cremated without a burial of her faith. I did not like the comments via the main characters lack of beliefs. It was empty, blank and grim.
He did a good job with all of his characters. So few had any redeeming values but were so cynical.
Not for me. Suppose if you have a glum look on life and are anti faith it might appeal to you.
"Thought Provoking"
Three words? That's funny....NO I Can't.
Loved the book with all the bits and pieces of two worlds meeting. It does fit my belief that Princess Dinana was assasinated and the book explains how. Patricia Cornwall had come up with the same theory. The 007 element is smashing as it flows with much of the newly released data about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor but also with a surprise element having to do with Prince Phillip that is shocking. Is this true? If it is, no wonder the British secret service wanted the book that Ian Fleming leaves behind destroyed at any cost. Try it....you just might like it! I am listening to it for a second time and that is a first!

So many as it is a riveting book with that 007 element of excitement.
