Sergey and Marina Dyachenko mix dramatic scenes with romance, action and wit, in a style both direct and lyrical. Written with a sure artistic hand, The Scar is the story of a man driven by his own feverish demons to find redemption and the woman who just might save him. Egert is a brash, confident member of the elite guards and an egotistical philanderer. But after he kills an innocent student in a duel, a mysterious man known as “The Wanderer” challenges Egert and slashes his face with his sword, leaving Egert with a scar that comes to symbolize his cowardice.

Ok, the first 2 hours were good, but it got old quick. Enough of the hard case, tough girl characters. Bleh..... Too many military Cliches. A good story must have a hit of truth/reality, this stinker has neither. I'll pass on the next of the series.

Eighty years into the future, the United States is a no-man's-land: its landscape blighted by chemical warfare, pollution, and plague; its government collapsed, its citizens adrift, desperate, and fighting to stay alive. Survivors in fortified compounds hold the line against wandering predators, rogue militias, and hideous mutations spawned by the toxic atmosphere. But from around the country, allies of good have been summoned to challenge the rampaging evil.

I just couldn't finish this book. The combination of the story line and narrator had me drifting off. Another narrator might have helped, It was read like a young adults book rather than a fantasy epic, very simplistic. PASS until re-read by Dick Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was waiting for this book for months..... What a disappointment, not up to par with the previous installments. The saving grace is Fleet Cooper's performance. This book felt rushed and almost seems as though the author changed his mind in the direction of the plot a few times. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next in series.

An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive - and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous - that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

I really couldn't get into this book due to the narration. Mix a little William Shattner, Rod Serling & that "Movie Trailer Guy" and this is what you get. Dick Hill set the bar for this series, anything less simply wont cut it!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Alicia Clayton, a pediatrician who treats children with AIDS, is full of secrets, and she has just inherited a house that holds another. Haunted by painful memories, Alicia wants the house destroyed - but somehow everyone she enlists to help ends up violently killed.

I should get a gold start for finishing this book!! I love the repairman Jack character and storyline, however I just do not like the narration. he uses the same cadence for every character and draws out the last word in every sentence. I will pass on the next few and try the Dick Hill narrated books.

This is without a doubt the worst narration/performance I have listened to. I could only manage to listen for 15 minutes than had to turn it off. The narrator sounds like he has a head cold, mix that with his poor timing & horrible character voices and well….. It’s a disaster!! Avoid this book!!
