"yay penn!"
i was a real fan of the penn jillette radio show, adn pretty much anything penn and teller related. i heard this air on npr and think it is such an elegant statement of his beliefs.
"a great bunch of short stories"
i especially like the one about the guardian cat, and the one about the angels and the murder. neil gaiman has a fantastic and lush vision.
"amazingly funny"
what else could this be other than ridiculously funny. it was funny to read in paperback, and with the voices and personalities we are so familiar with, it only gets better.
"hilarious"
i'm quickly becoming a christopher moore fan. each book i read of his is fantastically funny and imaginative. 'first brains, then IKEA.'
"lovely"
it's possible i could listen to stephen fry read the phone book and be pleased, but this is such a wonderful book as well. wickedly funny and imaginative.
"another good sedaris"
i love all of david sedaris's books. this is another great one to add to the shelf.
"great book"
haunted was my first palahniuk. it's a great book, very twisted, but fantastic. i really enjoyed hearing it read aloud.
"a clever title, but a real disappointment"
i thought this might be on par with david sedaris or hollis gillespie. you know, funny and insightful stories told by people you wish you could befriend.
i did chuckle a couple of times, but overall i find her humor shallow, grating, and lacking in redeeming qualities.
