Bilbo Baggins, a gentle hobbit who loves the comforts of home, reluctantly joins a company of dwarves on a journey to recover plundered gold from a fierce dragon. It's a tale of high adventure and astonishing courage, and a magical prelude to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I have always loved the hobbit growing up. I saw it on Audible and knew i had to have it. It was nice to have multiple voices for the characters. It was nice to have music and signing interspersed with the reading. It was nice to have sound effects. However, it was distracting and hard to understand the words. Sometimes the speakers were loud, and i had to turn the volume down, other times, it was too soft, and i had to go back and turn it louder. I was amazed at how fast I finished this audible book. I wanted more.

This book was one of the most exciting of the series as it tied up many loose ends and ended with a Bang. This series is one that I would not mind sharing with my children as they get older. The audio presenter changed from the first half to the second half of the audio books. I preferred the first audio presenter over the presenter in the latter half of the series. Over all, an excellent book and I couldn’t put it down.

This was my very first book from audible. I had no idea what audible was, and i really thought it was one of those books that reads to you when you turn the pages. I had used a credit on this book. Once i realized it was only voices, and no animation or book to follow along, i was very disappointed. Now that i have more experience with Audible, i wish i could return this book for my credit. needless to say, lesson learned. I now enjoy many audible books. i wish they would add more to the collection. I started the leven thumps series only to find audible only had the first two books of the series. I want more.

I enjoyed reading something with different. So often I read stories that all follow the same storyline and character development. I bought this book because of the reviews. I felt i would have enjoyed this book a little more if i was 13. However, i enjoyed reading this book because it was about characters other then elves, dwarfs, and humans. The concepts of living underground and interactions with underworld cultures kept me interested. Over all, i enjoyed this book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

What did you love best about Ender's Game?

I really enjoyed the overall performance of this audio book. Having purchased and listened to several books already, i enjoyed the voices, the speed, the intonations, the amount of characters speaking, and the story line.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I enjoyed the character of Ender. I loved his innocence and his thoughtfulness. I enjoyed how he overcame obstacles. I admired his intelligence.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book while driving and also while running on the treadmill and the elliptical machines. I actually didn't want to listen to this book all at once. I wanted to savor it and take my time hearing the story and pondering the meanings. But yes, had i the time, i would have listened to it constantly.
